There are so many programs and automated software out on the web that promises amazing articles. They will either write an article for you or take an article you have written and spin it into a unique article which you can submit to all the top article directories again. People are spending hundreds of dollars on these programs not understanding the power of a unique article. If you spend the time doing creating your own articles rather than having a spinner or creator do the work you are guaranteed better results. I understand that there are many people out on the web hoping to make money online without working every day, but article spinning is not the way to go. When you write your own content on a regular basis it will become easier and easier. One problem though is when people begin running out of ideas they don’t realize they need to be learning more about their niche so they have material for new unique articles.

The most common use of article spinning will be for a person’s internet marketing campaign. They will want articles they can submit to article directories. There are some lower class article directories that probably won’t actually read the entire article before publishing them. The problem with these article directories is they will not bring in the amount of publishers you need to succeed. If you tried to submit a spun article to one of the major article directories such as ezinearticles.com they would quickly decline the article. I find that with these top directories not only do they read the article they go as far as checking the links in the resource box making sure the links follow their guidelines. People don’t realize that a software program cannot write nearly as well as a person. Yes they can switch out sentences and words making the article look new, but they cannot make the article contain the same substance as a human written article. You may think that you can use the software to submit your spun articles to lower class article directories, but these directories will not have the same power in the search engines and will not help your article spread.

You may think that you cannot write unique articles consistently. This is a fear for many new webmasters and bloggers, but this is a unrealistic fear. Anyone can learn how to write articles on their niche if they are willing to practice. One important thing to do is read the publishers within your niche. The more you read the better your writing will become. You will learn how to express different ideas from these publishers. Spelling and grammar is another difficulty people struggle with including myself. They way I have overcome this is by using a quality word processor such as Microsoft Word. The great thing about writing for the web is quality writing is not determined by the level of technical writing skill, but rather the voice or personality of the writer.

Well these are all of my little squidoo lenses and they range from every little side project I have ever wanted to create. I have done reviews on books I have read and movies I have watched. The majority are articles which were reformatted into a lens format then published on squidoo so you may recognize some of the work on these lenses. I would like to take note on how I use the lenses to market other lenses and use the RSS feed module to market this blog. Moving This Blog

Well for some reason or another Google will not rank this blog. It is possible that it is banned or some other issues have happened. Anyway I am going to set up the exact same blog with the same set up. I am going to keep the old posts on this blog, but all new posts will be written on a wordpress engine on my own domain. Personally I feel like telling Google to bite me, but I guess it is not their fault they can't index the blog. I have never had the problem of having every sub page indexed, but the root URL not indexed so I am going to move. I will be spending the rest of the night setting up a brand new wordpress blog and I hope to see everyone over there for future posts. I will edit this post to add the link to the new blog.

Work With Google Not Against

When people try to build a marketing campaign that leads to free web traffic they will sometimes make the mistake of thinking that the only way to gain this traffic is through beating Google. This is not the case if you work with whitehat methods to increase traffic not going up against Google or trying to trick the search engine it is possible to reach the top for many different key terms. One thing is certain those who get away with tricking Google using blackhat methods will reach the top and receive some traffic the problem with using the techniques is when Google realizes that the website has tricked them they usually will be banned. If you get banned the only way to be re-indexed by Google is to remove all black hat seo techniques and then submit a request which usually takes over a month and is not a guarantee for re-inclusion. If you spent years working on a website then implemented a dirty technique all the years of work could possibly go to waste and the income that you were making from the website would disappear.

When you start out building a website you should consider Google from the very first line. Include the title tag with the title or closely related keywords that represent your website then fill in the keyword and description meta tags. You should do this for not only the root domain, but also all sub pages. When writing content for your website make sure that you put keywords throughout the page and in headings. If your website is about fishing then putting the keywords “fish”, “fishing”, “learn how to fish”, “how to fish”, will not be hard to put in. If there is no room for the keyword then think about creating a sub page for that word or term. You should use Google’s adwords keyword tool to find the best keywords which have the most traffic. When you are putting keywords into your site there is a couple things you should keep in mind. The first thing you will want to do is make sure that you are not stuffing keywords meaning don’t repeat the keyword over and over make sure the density of the keyword does not go over ten percent. The second mistake many internet marketers make when trying to SEO a website is not worrying about the readability of the website. Never under any circumstances sacrifice the readability of your website for keywords or any other SEO technique your visitors should always come first.

The next thing you will want to do is build links slowly and naturally. Don’t jump into link farms they are a waste of time and will place your website into the spam category of the web. When link building stick with reputable websites that have a decent amount of time and page rank behind them. Some of these websites include digg, prlog, and v7n forums. All three of these allow you to build links and all have a good name meaning the links that they send out to websites will be of high quality. Articles are another great way to get links write plenty of articles and submit them to the free traffic system and Ezine articles. If you do these things regularly you will reach the top of Google and be able to make money online free.

Tips On Blog Commenting

Well I run a few blogs some that I write for and some I just manage and enjoy the income for. One thing is I moderate all the comments on all the blogs. Now when you comment on a blog such as this one which has the no follow removed and allows keywords in the name box meaning you get a keyword targeted do follow backlink it is a good idea to actually read the post. If I get something like Great Post! Very informative I will return soon! I am going to delete it immediately. I have used comment kahuna which is blog commenting software and I know what general comments look like. If you want to get your comment published then first read the full post not skimming. Then take a minute to absorb the information and post a useful thoughtful comment.

If you really want to get your comment published then bring up something within the post. If someone wanted to comment on this post they could say "good post on blog commenting I did or didn't agree with taking time to absorb the information" or whatever part of the post you want to bring up. This tells me that you actually read the post and remembered at least one point brought up in the post.

You should also not be to concerned with if a blog has the no follow attribute or not. The point of blog commenting is not to increase your backlinks, but rather increase your network "who you know". If you were to comment on my blog for a while then asked if you could guest post by emailing me asking to guest post and including the actual post showing that it is done. I would of course give you full credit, but I would only publish the article if you had been hanging around the blog for a while. Anyway just a few tips.

A Little On Interlinking

Well for now I am going to get into the personal aspects of this blog. First and foremost I could not beleive the fact that this blog did not gain it's PR back with the newest update last week or the week before. I am not sure why or how, but the 1,500 links could not even provide a PR of 0. On the other hand my Internet Marketing Forum jumped up to a page rank of two and my website Make Money Online also jumped up to two page rank. My root domain kbeus.com jumped up to page rank of 1 without anything done to it. Yet this blog that had a PR of 2 months ago has had nothing the last two updates. I know some of you may be thinking that it got banned for some reason or another, but when I checked Google and Yahoo they showed that every post that I write and the main domain help their page rank. Personally I think that I have been marketing the hell out of my other websites not really having time to build links towards this page which is why. Either way I just wanted to catch you guys up if you have any suggestions please leave a comment on with the post.

Now when I say interlinking what I am referring to is the links from one of your websites to the others. This has been called a link wheel, but personally I like to only put websites in my blog posts or on my websites that I think will help the visitor to that presence. Now if I have a new website such as the one I have just began marketing which is called Free Web Traffic. This is going to be one of my bigger websites I started out with a four page website really basic just listing the ways to gain more traffic. It of course has links to the resources that I use, but what I am planning to do with it is add a few dozen tutorials covering the basics of SEO, Link Building, and Social Marketing. Now I wanted this website indexed quickly so I put links on everything I own and created a few different presences to support it such as a hub page.

Anyway all four pages are indexed though they don't come up for their keywords yet. The main income for this website will be Google adsense and now that is has been indexed I will be building backlinks very slowly for the next few months. If you are curious why slowly at first look at the post before this one called Overcoming Google Sandbox. I go over why they first few months should be a restful period only making sure that Google has indexed your website. Now after these months I will build a few hundred links and only continue building if Google drops the site. After these months I will then launch a full fledge internet marketing campaign to try and hit the top of Google. It is much easier to reach the top of Google with an older site and if the site does has age then it is much easier to hold a high SERPs position. I will with the link building be adding the tutorials to show Google the site is growing and becoming more useful to readers. After a while the traffic will stablize and I will know my set income. I am not planning on holding the top of Google for free web traffic or free website traffic since:

Anyway after I begin marketing hard I will remove the backlinks to the website that are from websites that are not in the same niche. If the website does not have anything to do with internet marketing or internet business I will not have a link to the free web traffic site. I only want relevant links that will actually help. Anyway I am going to attempt to gain upto PR 3 and the top of Google for this site with a constant supply of keyword filled backlinks. Overcoming The Google Sandbox

This idea came to me recently after doing some searches for my newest website Make Money Online I found even though I have enough backlinks and content to show up my website does not have the time. So what I will be doing in the next six months to a year with this website is building a link or two weekly making sure the website does not get de indexed (Google thinks it is dying). I will add content on the wordpress blog I installed with the site maybe a post a week or so nothing real big just enough to let Google know it is growing. That is it "the big plan". Now it may not seem very big to someone that does not know about what it means to be an internet marketer, but if you know about Google you know they don't trust new websites. You must prove yourself with time and once Google and other search engines knows you are here to say then your marketing will not go to waste.

For those new bloggers and webmasters out there here is some tips that will help you save time rather then waste. When I began my online business career which is about how to make money online I was told one thing by many different webmasters and bloggers which was “backlinks rank your website within major search engines”. Well this is not exactly true and in most cases backlinks only have a small effect on where a website will be placed. If you go into the news niche up against major companies such as cnn and forbes you will find that constant update of fresh content is much more important than gaining new text links. I am guessing if the content on the news site is good enough the story will be linked to from related blogs trying to provide their readers within informative content as well as major websites within the niche. Now if you are in a more static niche such as literature, history, or something similar where there is not always new news then backlinks from authoritative websites will be what drives websites to the top of search engines. In most cases though it will be a mix of the two content creation and link development.

A problem with quite a few webmasters and bloggers is they are not sure the amount of content they should be adding to their website. Personally I have found when blogging 5-14 weekly posts is suitable to sustain enough content to keep a blog on top of Google. When creating content write about things you think people will want to look up such as how tos and list of. These kind of titles are typed into Google all the time and if you get a post to the top of Google for a well searched term then you will see a good jump in traffic. Another important thing to do when working on a blog or other web presence is make sure that the URL is well SEO’d. What this means is if you have a blog in your control panel make sure that you pick the permalink that shows the post title rather than just a bunch of random characters. If you have a website then when saving make sure to give relevant names to the folders and save the file with the title of the subpage rather than something like page1. If you put the title which should be the search term for the page it will have a much better chance for ranking high within the serps.

As a webmaster who is driven by the want to succeed with search engines and really make money online there is one thing that I have found beats out most others and that is link creation. When I started my online career I did not care where I got the links so I began submitting to any website that would accept URL’s including link farms and ffa pages. Well this quickly lead to my website being banned (pretty much the worst thing a webmaster can experience). I did not know what to do so I started a new website dedicated to the same niche “make money online”. Rather than repeat the same mistake I took a few months and read everything I could about the correct method of link creation and white hat internet marketing. I had no idea there was a right and wrong path when you are trying to get to the top of Google and I was a little irritated by the fact that Google only liked websites that had links from relevant high authority websites.

The webmaster forums were a great way to start the search for relevant high authority one way links. I asked all the experienced webmasters and every time I got two answers on how to accomplish this task. The first way to accomplish this is to become an authority within my niche the person everyone looks at when they want to find out something about making money online. This was even more depressing since I was in such a populated niche there would be a very unrealistic chance of me climbing above the rest. The second answer I got was create link bait. I found that I did not have to be the expert of a niche to be linked to, but no matter what I needed content worthy of linking to. There are many ways to create link bait some good others can lead to more problems than they are worth.

When you are trying to create link bait keep in your mind what you would link to as well as what would be extremely unique and very hard to duplicate. One of the best ways to create link bait is to be the first to report. If someone searches for news within a niche and you already have a blog post before everyone else then people will find your post within the SERPs and if the news is important enough they will place a link from their blog or website to the piece. As a new webmaster I spent plenty of time in the webmaster forums more specifically in the SEO and Google forums which helped me reach the top of Google for many different keywords. I did see really good traffic and made a bit of money, but later as Google changed up their algorithm my website dropped deep into the darkest depths of the index where no visitor travels. After getting over the fact that all of my work had pretty much been for nothing since I had nothing to show I decided to begin a diverse marketing campaign. This time I would hit all the major traffic sources such as major video, social, and article websites. I would become well known within my niche so if Google decided to drop me once more I would be able to continue getting traffic from various traffic and still have an income. You must remember when marketing online do not devote all of your marketing efforts to only one form of traffic especially if you want to make money online. This article will explain some different methods of gaining traffic from multiple sources.

The first way to get traffic that I would like to talk about is gaining search engine traffic through link building and SEO. This traffic is extremely targeted and monetizes easily. Search traffic is the only traffic that can be easily monetized with Google adsense and other PPC campaigns. To gain this traffic you will need a basic understanding of SEO and the ability to build thousands of backlinks to your web presence. I have found The Free Traffic System a great way to build links and increase traffic. You can also use free directories, press releases, and article websites. When you are building links be sure to place the keywords between your anchor tags. If you place keywords rather than some obscure words or the Url of your website your web presence will begin gaining SERPs placement for the keywords which you place.

The last type of traffic I would like to talk about is You Tube and other popular videos. Usually a basic web cam great for making informative videos for your niche costs around 30 dollars and when you upload to you tube you are placing your video in front of millions upon millions of potential visitors and blog readers. If you make videos often then you will see your videos coming up in google, bing, and yahoo searches.

What Will People Search For?

Guys this is one of the most important topics of SEO and internet marketing. You should be on the constant look out for what people will be typing in to find your website, blog post, or sub pages. So how do we know what people are searching for? Well there is one great tool that I use ~ https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal You type in any keyterm and google will pull up how many times in the last month that term has been searched for. You can also use this tool~ http://www.google.com/trends (it is no longer in beta so I guess they decided to keep it) anyway this tool will tell you the popularity of a keyterm over an extended period of time. So let say you go to the adwords tool and type in the term "make money online" you find that last month there was around 200k searches for that term. Most people would stop there not concerned about how the term did a year ago, but not you. You go to Google trends and find that it has been riding very low and had a 1000X spike last month and if you go after the term it will fall back down to its average. Now this is not the case with the term make money online it is a very good term.

It is not all about tools and anaylitcs when you want to know what people are searching for. Let say you own a website that offers a massive list of directories. You have a goal of listing every free directory on the web and quickly banning any that begin charging. Well you have a list of 2k solid free directories. The problem is you have not been building any links and have very little traffic even after months of work. You know the list will be extremely helpful to webmasters on a fixed budget and really want to get the word out. You begin the process of working the SERPs ranking high for keywords that are well searched for and explain your website very well. To begin choosing keywords you go through the tools checking what people search for when wanting a large list of free directories some of the test would probably include "list of directories", "directory list", "free directory list", "free directory", "free directories", "general directories", and on and on. Now the problem is you are looking at term after term putting them in software wanting to find the most traffic. You have not thought about the subject with common sense and picked at least two or three terms which fit your site the best and didn't worry about traffic just went after the keywords. If I had a big list of free directories the terms I would certainly rank for no matter what the search volume would be "list of free directories", "big list of free directories", "free one way links", and "free directories". This is what I would spend my time with at first making sure I was ranking well for the keyterms which best represented my website.

As you dig into the world of search engine optimization and keyword research you should be keeping one thing in mind and that is if it was easy everyone would do it. You can look at big terms in your niche all day long it won't help you rank well for them. If you want to rank well for the "bank" terms in your niche the ones that pay the bills then expect to be working for a very long time. I have just passed my second year as a webmaster and I just reached the top for a term with 20k monthly search. This has definatley grown my income, but I still can not yet sit home and do this full time I need to keep working on the bigger keywords 100k+ terms. The reason I will get there is I am willing to build a few hundred links each and every day. It also helps that I will not be giving up any time soon.

You can of course help these webmasters and make a new online friend if they are in the same niche then you can work together to create a cross promotional campaign.

You should also look to the blogosphere for any new marketing concepts. There are many great internet marketing blogs that you can find by using Google. The best way to pick which blogs are best use the tactics the bloggers publish if they work keep reading the blog if they are junk ideas then delete the blog from you reader or favorites. If you read these blogs often and build the relationship between you and the blogger there will be a greater chance for the possibility of a guest post or link exchange.

The last thing every webmaster should be doing is creating content constantly as well as backlinks. These two things are the basic driving force behind the web and internet marketing. If you work hard on both of these two things as often as possible within a year you should be a competitive presence within your niche rather than just hitting a few hits daily. Anyway I love this video because it asks the question that I think Matt is not to found of. It asks how to get links "WITHOUT" good content or what are the other methods besides good content to get links. He of course puts in the tip writing good content is the foundation of good links, but also talks about using social media. I also really like the fact he covers some of the bad/overused ways to get links such as list building and controvery. Anyway it is an excellent video and I would love to here your thoughts. How To SEO Your Website

The first part of any optimization is choosing the niche you would like to build your web presence in. A niche is the category such as “make money online”, “fishing”, “internet marketing”, or whatever category your website is about. You want to make sure that there is enough traffic within your niche to support your goals. If your goal is just to practice being a webmaster and discuss a topic then traffic will not be much of a concern, but if you are planning on spending thousands of hours on this website and hoping it will make you wealthy then niche popularity will be an important factor when trying to decide what niche you would like to create your presence for. Once you have picked your niche it is time to begin looking at all the keywords in your niche. You will want to take the top 10 keywords and work them into your website. Personally I like to use two keywords per web page then build links with those keywords in them. You can use one keyword or ten keyword, the great thing about SEO is the lack of right and wrong just what works and what doesn’t.

Now as you create your website with the keywords in mind try not to over populate your content with your keywords this is called keyword stuffing and can have adverse affects on your website within the SERPs. You should also never sacrifice readability, overall visual look, or usability for any SEO. The SEO should only be incorporated where it will not have a negative effect on your website. If the visitor gets to your website, but automatically clicks off because it has ugly SEO crap all over then your SEO efforts will be wasted. Now after the website is created and the keyword rich content is published the next step will be to make every web page suitable for landing equipped with full meta tags.

This is the part of SEO where we focus on the bots. A bot is a program that searches the web for websites then indexes them into search engines. Every major search engine has a bot and the bot is usually named for the search engine it represents such as Google bot and yahoo bot. There are a few meta tags that you should be filling out for every page that is suitable for a landing page (the page a visitor hits your site from a search engine). Remember you can rank sub pages in your website for number 1 if you build links for them. The meta tags you should be filing out is the title and description these are going to be displayed in Google so don’t worry about keywords just make sure that they explain your website very well. Do not put content in the title or description unless it describes your site fully this content is what google searchers will be looking at when they decide if your website is the right one for them. When you dive into the online business world you will find the golden rule which is fresh new content always wins. Now if you are creating new content there are steps which you can take to get the most out of the new fresh content. You should be aware of the SEO aspect which a new article holds and how to place links throughout the article which have keywords within the anchor tags. I have also found it useful to place the article in multiple places online giving all of my readers and repeat visitors something new. One of the biggest mistakes that webmasters make when trying to make money online is not marketing towards their target audience and attempting to promote within their niche. When you create your website it is important to do research on the niche (category of website) that you are going to be joining. If you would like to learn how to make money online one of the most important factors is increasing traffic and my favorite method of increasing traffic is through search engines. This article will focus on some of the basics when trying to increase your SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) placement. When you become a webmaster you may have the notion that when you build a website it will instantly be ranked number one in Google and other major search engines, but the reality is it takes a lot of work and time before you gain the search engines trust and they begin placing you higher and higher in their index. If you are willing to truly take the time (6 months – 2 years) to earn the search engines trust you will see the payoffs and if you would like to make money online it will not be difficult.

The first and most important part of ranking well in search engines is the creation of your website or blog. This is what will make or break your website and should be done with extreme care. Take the time to research whatever niche you are entering and find what keywords are bringing in the most search volume. There are many webmasters that advise against going after competitive (highly searched) keywords, but I think the reason they are so competitive is they will pay the bills if you rank well. So pick keywords that have a high search volume 10k + searches monthly. How To Start A Forum

Hey guys I wrote this step by step on how to start a forum as you know I started a forum by doing this which you can find at Internet Marketing Forum. Anyway here is the how to guide:

This article will explain how to install a phpbb forum onto your webhost whether free or paid. You must make sure that your hosting company supports php and mysql before you begin the installation. If you run into trouble at the end of this article you will find links to phpbb installation guides. Also before attempting to install a forum you will need to know the basics of FTP and HTML. Let’s build a forum!

1. The first step is to sign up for hosting and download a FTP application. Personally I suggest two different hosting companies who both offer support for php and mysql. The first is free and you can find them at Free Web Host they do set limits for bandwidth and space so if your forum does grow large you may be forced to move it to a paid hosting website. Now the paid hosting website (which I use for my forums) is Hosting 24 either one of these should work fine for your needs. You will also need to download File Zilla which allows you to upload files to your server for free. You can find File Zilla here~ http://filezilla-project.org/.

2. Now that you have a host and FTP downloaded the next step will be to download phpbb. This is a free forum script which allows you to run a forum for free and without ads. It also allows you to change the source code which is extremely beneficial for experienced webmasters. To get the forum script/source go to phpbb downloads and click on “full package” then click on “Download phpBB 3.0.7-PL1 (zip)” which will download the files. After downloading extract all the files and copy the entire directory which will be called something like phpBB3 or something very similar.

3. The next step will to be placing the files onto your server. To do this open File Zilla and put in all of your ftp details which you can find in your web hosts user control panel. Once logged in to your host drag the phpbb3 directory wherever you want it. For this article I will assume that you are installing the forum script on your root domain such as forum.com rather than forum.com/directory.

4. Now that you have all the phpbb files on your host the next step is going to be changing the file permissions. This is an important step which you do with your FTP. I will explain step by step what to do with File Zilla if for some reason you use a different FTP you will need to investigate how to change the file permissions with your FTP. With File Zilla open up the main directory phpbb on your server by double clicking it. A long list of files and folders will come up the file you will first be changing is config.php. Once you find config.php you will right click on the file and at the bottom of the box click on “file permissions”. In the text box called numeric value: type the number 666 which makes everything writable. The next changes you will do is folders within the main folder phpbb. The folders you will be changing are store (right click on the folder and click file permissions then in the numeric value box type 777), cache which you will also be changing to 777, and files which you will be changing to 777. Remember just right click the folder name then click on file permissions then type 777 into the numerical value box. Now the next folder we will be changing is a sub folder. You will need to be in the main phpbb folder then double click on images then double click on avatars then right click on upload. You will click file permissions for this upload file and change them to 777. So here is a list of the files and folders we have changed file permissions for:

config.php phpbb33/config.php changed to 666

the folder store phpbb3/store/ changed to 777

the folder cache phpbb3/cache/ changed to 777

the folder files phpbb3/files/ changed to 777

the sub folder upload phpbb3/images/avatars/upload/ changed to 777

5. Ok now we have all the file permissions correct it is time to set up a database. This will be done within your hosts control panel under the option “create mysql database” or “install mysql database” you will see a button if your host offers my sql support which will allow you to create a database. Again I know about my host which you can find by clicking HERE. With my host I click on “my sql databases” then an empty box comes up for the database name. I enter the name of my database (which I/you will need later) then hit create database. On my host I also have to create a new user where I input the username and password for my database. The next step for me is to add user to database. Now what is important is keeping track of your database details. Here is what you will need:

The Database Type (TIP: it is a my sql database)

The Database server hostname or DSN (only some hosts need this one don’t stress if you don’t have it)

The Database server port (only some hosts need this one as well don’t stress yet if you don’t have this)

The Database name (A must you need the name of the database you created which you get to usually pick the name)

The Database username (Another must you need the username you picked for your database)

The Database password (Another must you need the password you picked for the database)

So you have WRITTEN DOWN the type of database (mysql) the database name, username for the database, and the password for the database. Now when you created the database if it gives you the server hostname or port write them down as well these are usually not mandatory, but if they give them to you go ahead and write them down.

6. Ok we have the file permissions done and the database created (tired yet?) it is time to begin installing your forum. To do this you will need to go to the URL of your forum. If you installed the forum on your root directory then it will look like yoursite.com/phpBB3/ if you uploaded the script to a sub directory it will look like yoursite.com/subdirectory/phpBB3/. If you are not sure where you uploaded the files I will explain how to get the address from File Zilla your ftp. Open file zilla and login to your server (where your files are) make sure you are in the public_html folder. This folder is what your domain yoursite.com points to. If you see the folder phpBB3 then the URL will be yoursite.com/phpBB3 if you installed the phpbb directory in a deep sub folder the address will look like yoursite.com/folder/deeperfolder/phpbb3 you can see the names of the folder in your file zilla. The point is in your web browser you need to put in the address to either the folder phpbb3 itself or the install folder phpbb3/install it may take some time, but with enough tries you will get it.

7. Once you bring up the phpbb3 in your browser you need to click the install tab. The first check it will run is the file permissions which is step 4. If all of these are right click continue and the next thing you will need to enter is your database details.

The first one it asks you for is what type of database this is usually a drop down box make sure it is on my sql.

The second thing it will ask you for is The Database server hostname or DSN like I said in most cases you do not need to worry about this.

The third thing it will ask you for is The Database server port this like the server hostname will probably not be needed (if these are needed you will need to contact your host to get the details).

The fourth thing it will ask is for is The Database name (which you should have written down from step 5. If you don’t login to your host go to your databases and find the name of the database)

The fifth thing it will ask you for is The Database username which again you should have written down if not go to your host and find it.

The six thing is the database password and again this should be written down.

8. Now hit continue and it will make sure your database is working and it can connect if not you may need to recreate the database on your server and re-enter the details. Once the database is accepted the next thing screen it will bring you to is the Admin details. This is where you will be entering your login details and email. Hit continue to the next step which is the configuration file. You changed the permissions in step 4. If you did not do this then go back to step 4 and redo the config.php file permissions. Hit next and it will bring you to Advanced settings which is all up to you. They will ask for stuff such as the URL your forum is on and some other settings. If you are not sure what to put then don’t change these it is fine to leave them blank. Hit next and finish up that is all there is to it. I personally set up a phpbb forum manually to write this article so I know for a fact that it works:) anyway the next couple steps is setting up threads for your users to post on as well as some basic marketing resources.

9. In your administration control panel click on the tab forums and create your first forum. Put the topic then the forum title. Usually I like my first forum to be “rules”, but you put whatever you want. It is a good idea to have a second window up to refresh when you make changes or additions to your forum. It takes a little while to get use to so spend plenty of time in the forum administration control panel looking around and learning. There are many different options that you can choose just try to get the hang of it (something that takes practice and can’t really be taught). Add a few forums and begin posting.

10. Ok now we will get into the marketing aspect of a forum (once all the different forums are in place and you are ready for users). The biggest tip I can give is to set up hundreds of posts where you ask questions and post informative posts on how to do whatever your niche topic is. After you have a hundred or so posts and feel there is plenty for your users to do the next step is marketing. I will not go to in depth since I am already around 2k words, but I will give you some resources. True Internet Marketing

Well as my readers have followed this blog I have spouted off how to gain rank in the SERPs. Now I would like to move into something a little more in depth I want to reach the essence of Internet Marketing. Now I am not the number one expert by any means I am a regular guy struggling like the majority of regular guys out there. I do get paid from my online adventures, but I still work my ass off every day. So let's move into some theories that may help those reading this.

The first big misconception behind internet marketing is you should only be worried about do follow links. Guys do follow is great for increasing SERPs position, but it is usually so saturated by links you will only get a small amount of juice. Personally when internet marketing you want your link all over the web whether it is no follow or do follow (without spamming of course). Lets really get into this lets say you do a search for a keyword related to your website. For example I search for "backlinks" in Google. Go ahead and follow along if you want make sure to use the real global Google not a local google.

Now this blog has a lot to do with backlinks and I want people interested in backlinks to either look at this blog or my website Free Website Traffic either one is fine. Now when I do the search I am really interested in the top ten positions really breaking them down. If you are lazy and don't want to go to Google and search here is what I see (I had to shrink the text down to fit all ten sorry):

Now I am sorry if you have a hard time reading it, but I will of course go over the position and what you can do. So this blog I want to be visible for people who are searching for backlinks. On this search I notice that wikipedia is number 1 like usual, but what sucks is that they offer no comments or anywhere to add your website. This is fine we can just move down the list. The second website that comes up for the word backlinks is a sub page of backlinksblackbelt.com. Now usually sub pages that rank well are either articles or blog posts so this is one I should investigate. Well it is a PR 2 blog post, but the comments are closed. So I look for something else there is backlink watch which will not help, then thirty minute backlinks, but then something happens I find a web directory that ranks very well for the term backlinks. I of course submit my website, but this is only the beginning. Close to the end position 8 I see squidoo someone of course built a ton of links to reach the top of Google for the term backlinks. It is a PR 3 lense with only 8 comments and still accepting comments? Am I the only webmaster who is running an internet marketing website that wants to be in front of their audience? I guess me and 8 other people.

Anyway I will be commenting on this squidoo page putting either my link or my squidoo profile in front of potential readers. I will be one of few that actually search my niche to find the true players and when it is ok such as the directory and the squidoo lense be placing either my name, site, or url in front of targetted traffic. Do I care if the backlinks are no follow? Hell no I want my name or site in front of potential readers/traffic don't you? I mean that is the point in ranking well for keywords, but why not place your name, site, or link on websites that are already ranked high? I no longer need to rank well for the keyword "backlinks"
and guess what I will be doing the same thing for building backlinks, build backlinks, how to build backlinks, keys to backlinks, on and on and on. Web comfs had the right idea with their backlink builder try it out~ Backlink Builder it searches google for keywords then pulls websites that have submit link and others. Anyway don't think backlinks are out of your reach you need to be online searching if you want to do well online.

The internet is driven by new information whether text, video, or pictures. People search for the newest product or for an informative article which fits their needs. Now with content creation comes a much more difficult process which is how to get people viewing the content which you have created. This is done by using the multiple social websites and article directories out on the web. If you spend a week researching and writing a large article it would be disappointing if only one or two people was able to enjoy your content. Article marketing when done correctly will increase your article views greatly. Personally I have had videos and articles viewed thousands of times. If the content is of great quality then after the first few hundred or so views the people viewing your work will begin sharing it with their friends and you will see a viral affect, but only if you implement at least basic article marketing tactics.

The first step in any article marketing campaign is the actual content creation. This is the most important part and should be done with great care. When you begin an article make sure you treat the creation as a representation of your web presence and nothing less. If you own a website full of spam and it holds no real usefulness to visitors then it is fine to spend 10 minutes or so writing down poorly written paragraphs and submitting the article to thousands of low quality directories. On the other hand if you have a web presence which you are truly proud of and holds unique and useful content for your visitors then try to take the time necessary when writing your article making sure you are writing a representation of your web presence. Keywords should also be taken into account when writing an article I usually use the google adwords tool to find the most searched key terms then use those key terms in my article titles. When you submit your article to high authority websites usually your website will rank on the top page of Google.

After you have the article written and you are ready to let the web/world read it then begin your article marketing. Personally I start with the web presences I own then branch out from there. Remember Google looks highly on websites that have been recently updated so use your article to update your web presence. The next step is submitting your website across the web into high quality directories and hubs. If you are not sure where to submit your articles search Google for “top article directories” or “list of article directories” and Google will bring up many lists which you can use in your article marketing campaign. When someone steps into the online business world with the attempt to make money free they will need to learn SEO. The problem is when a webmaster tries to rank their website high the easy way is to use spam tactics which are in the realm of black hat seo. Things like link farms, building tons of blogs full of links, placing ads where they don’t belong, and hiding both links and tags internally all fall into the category of black hat seo. On the other hand working really hard creating masterful content and actually taking the time to seek out and build promotional relationships may be much harder, but the pay off for using these white hat techniques will be much more beneficial. The webmasters here are extremely friendly and will help you build an online empire if you are willing to work hard and learn.

Now after the learning you will need to actually go out and acquire backlinks. There are hundreds of ways to gain backlinks online. I am going to cover some of the most basic ways which you should consider following when trying to gain backlinks. The first and most prevalent is general and niche directories. This includes websites such as dmoz.org and other free directories. They are usually free and offer a backlink with the keywords you would like to rank well for. Article directories are another way to get backlinks as well as social bookmarking. One that I have used and seen good results is exchanging links with relevant websites. You should make sure the website is a decent place before linking to them. When you join the online world in the hope of being able to become rich there are a few things you should be aware of. The first and most important thing I tell my blog readers who are trying to find ways to make money free is nothing including online money comes free they must work their butts off if they would like to succeed online. When asked “how much work does it take to succeed online?” I usually respond an endless amount because when you stop working your website stats will suffer. This may be disappointing to some, but if you work hard and earn the top spot within your niche (category of website) the work load will decline. The reason for this is when you first build a website or blog you have to catch up your backlink count and content with websites that have been online for years. Once you have your backlinks and content up with your competitors no longer are you trying to catch up you are now keeping pace. The workload to keep up with your competitors in my experience will take around 20% of the work it took to catch up with your competitors. There are some different ways to stay up with your competition and they do not always mean working hard.

The main way I keep up with my competition is through content and backlink creation. Doing this everyday at least a little bit will keep me in the first page of Google SERPs (search engine results pages). I have been thinking of ways which to beat my competition and though I can out work them it would be much easier to out think them. Through different social networking websites such as my internet marketing forum I have learned ways to brand my website becoming the authority which helps when I need links I create new content and it is automatically linked to. Twitter is another excellent platform to learn the newest ways to market a website since I can look at those internet marketers that I admire so much. I have also been following some of the internet marketing leaders through their blogs. I really enjoy such blogs as problogger.net, seomoz.com, and seobook.com if you keep up with these three then you will know of the top ideas coming out within the internet marketing niche. It is also a good idea to keep up with social marketing and to do this I make sure to read out everything new on mashable.com. Anyway this is the best way to stay ahead or at least on the same level with your competition.

Before we end I would like to suggest some courses of action if you have the time to complete these then your website will be much more successful for it. The first is setting a backlink number and following through. Personally I try to build 50 backlink each and every day using many different platforms. You should also understand that content creation drives the internet so creating content at least one article a day is a must when trying to compete online. You should also attempt to network as much as possible with the social networking sites. Idea Of Internet Marketing Basics

As I thought about todays post one thing was certain I cover the basics a lot. Now from time to time I do go into advanced SEO or creative link building techniques, but usually I am trying to cover what anyone should be doing after the creation of a web presence. The reason I spend so much time on the basics is advanced SEO, Link Building, and all around Internet Marketing is unwritten and unproven. This means I can explain how to do mass content creation mixed with a complex interlinking structure to improve search results for both the URL which you have created the content for and also an external website. The problem is I can't prove that it works and to tell you the truth I am not sure it works. So I stay with the basics and this post again will go over the first 5 things you should do during and after the creation of your website.

1. SEO the content. This means you should think about a niche which really excites you then use google adwords tool (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal) to check out keywords and see which ones are bringing in the most traffic. ONE IMPORTANT POINT there will be webmasters that tell you not to go for high traffic keywords, you should not listen to these guys. I made the mistake of building links for a keyword which was not searched that much and after 4 months I got first page, but only 10-20 organic hits daily. If I would have picked A high traffic keyword (which I got later) I was getting 100+ organic hits daily so go big and stick to it.

2. Content Creation Plan. If you notice I did not say "content creation" because once you have created your first set of content you will not be done. If you really want to be a hit online you will need to have a plan set out where you write at least a couple times weekly. It will be really important to stick to your schedule the best you can.

3. Content Marketing. It is great to write plenty of articles and post them on your blog, but this is not enough. You will need to get your content on websites with a decent amount of traffic. This will help greatly as you try to make it online. Now as most of you know I have a little site I use for this and it has helped me greatly:

4. Linkbuilding. The most boring task of any internet marketer is building links one after another. Well I wrote this article and I think it will help those struggling with the basics of SEO. I know 4 posts in a day is over doing it and I should have spread these out, but i really don't care it will still be helpful to someone I am sure:) anyway here is my article:

This article is meant to be a basic guide for those who are not sure how to even begin optimizing a website for major search engines. If you have specific questions about the process of optimization then I suggest that you visit an Internet Marketing Forum. To begin SEO (Search Engine Optimization) you must first understand what exactly your trying to do. SEO is when a webmaster uses both on and off site tactics as well as on and off page tactics to rank well in the search engines. There are ways to rank well ethically called white hat SEO which is what this article will be focusing on as well as ways to rank well unethically called black hat SEO (I highly discourage any type of black hat optimization). SEO should never come before your website or blogs readability, visual look, or usability.

To begin optimizing your website pick the niche (category such as business or marketing) you would like to create your website in. Then choose between 10-20 keywords you would like to rank well for. When choosing keywords I recommend using the Google adwords keyword analyzing tool which shows you the amount of times monthly a particular term is searched for. Once you have found a few good keywords/terms which bring in enough traffic to make as much money as you want begin placing them in your meta tags and throughout your content. Make sure the terms are very relevant to your niche and to the website itself. Now you have your website up filled with terms that have large search volumes and the content with the terms makes since and does not repeat over and over it is time to begin building links. There are many different places to build links my favorites consist of article directories, general directories, the free traffic system, social bookmarking websites, blogs, social networking websites, and press release websites. Remember the backlinks which will push you up above the rest are going to be one way, on relevant webpages, and on high authority web pages. The links will also need to have the keywords you want to rank well for within the anchor tags. If you are submitting your site to general directories then placing your keywords in the title box will put the keywords between the anchor tags and help your search engine rankings for those keywords. Also when building links make sure to switch the keywords not building links for only one keyword or term.

Well I have been thinking about this post for quite some time. Search after Search has turned up a bunch of ok guidelines, but mostly crap thoughts and posts done by people who will probably never see the first page of Google for any key term. One thing I would like to make clear if you want to learn SEO or Internet Marketing you need to learn from those making the ranking algorithm. I do know quite a bit and the majority I have learned from three places:

1st. On You Tube there is a channel which webmasters should be watching which is run by Google engineer Matt Cutts~ Google Webmaster Help

Guys this is the only real link that we have with Google. The majority of their ranking system is kept secret the only things they are willing to say is on their website, their blog, and this video channel.

2nd. Doing Google searches. That is right when I need to learn something I search google and go through page after page of results. I will read forum posts, articles, web pages, anything on the topic until I know it like the back of my hand. This is where I find the majority of my resources and should be taken advantage of remember "google it" has become famous for a reason.

3rd. Webmaster Forums. I love webmaster forums and so should you if you want to do well in online business. These platforms allow you to discuss thoughts, ideas, tactics, ect. with other webmasters and learn from their mistakes as well as sharing yours. Take advantage personally my favorite webmaster forum is V7N Forums. Join and ask questions. Now let's move onto what I have found ranks my websites and blogs well in Google. The most important thing for any website or online business is content. Google has become very good at taking crap out of their SERPs so if you think you can create a paragraph which is junk on a squidoo page and put a hundred affiliate links then create thousands of backlinks to push your page to the top forget about it. This was once ok, but now you actually have to offer something other than crap. Work hard on your content making it the best you can. If you do a good job others will link to you and you will have to do minimal internet marketing. This is the best way to reach the top of Google.

Now Google also likes popular/trustworthy topics and brands so work hard on being honest when online. If you run a blog try tor really be honest when posting making sure if you post something which is inaccurate you tell your readers as quickly as possible. This will really help when trying to build your authority online. Also be wary of who you are linking to if you link to junk websites such as porn, viagra, ect. then Google will think those are your brothers and sisters and throw you into the category of junk or spam. Link to Good websites for example let say I am running a marketing blog. I am going to link to websites such as SEO Book and SEO MOZ. These are well established and respected sites Google will look at these outgoing links and associate my presence with them helping me out. The point is be careful don't link to those who should not have links.

Build links with keywords between the anchor tags. This is important and should be done. If you have a website with good content which has the keywords you would like to rank well for if you want to reach the top of Google you will need to build links and usually quite a few of them. This article is for those who are having trouble within the SERPs and would like to reach the front page of Google. These 10 ways to gain backlinks are all whitehat and the majority will allow you to place keywords between the anchor tags therefore increasing your search engine position for that particular keyword or term. Remember that link building will only work if you have content that is worth looking at and the content on your website or blog has been optimized for search engines.

7. Reciprocal Link Exchange- Websites such as link market offer a platform which makes link exchanges extremely easy. You can always use the old fashioned way of writing an email to the webmaster and asking them to exchange links with you.

6. Directory Submission- The easiest way to gain one way links with your keywords in the anchor text is submitting your website to directories. I personally recommend only submitting your website to directories with a page rank over 2.

5. Article Submission- There are thousands of article directories on the web and quite a few allow you to place links within the actual content of the article. They also people to come and take your articles to publish on their websites which means your link from one article may find itself on many different blogs and other publishing websites.

4. Create Free Web Pages- Websites such as squidoo and hub pages allow you to create single pages for free and as long as the content is good you are allowed to place links to your websites and blogs. If you choose to use squidoo pages for backlinks it is a good idea to build backlinks towards the squidoo pages themselves.

3. Forums- Another easy way to gain one way backlinks is through the use of forums. All you need to do is know a little BB code and place the links in the signature. My Internet Marketing Forum allows you to place three links within your signature.

Increase Networking Whenever Possible

This post is for those who are in the web 2.0 and would like to expand their internet marketing campaign past SEO and link building into the world of viral marketing. As you begin your blog more than likely you will have a blank screen with big dreams driving the ambition to write. This will be fine for the beginning months, but to see your blog really grow into a well known name it will need recognition from many different industry leaders. For example everyday Pro Blogger has a guest post which is usually excellent. If you get your post read by 100,000 readers guess what you will see your new blog gain hundreds if not thousands of new readers depending on how well your post was written. This is seen time and time again new bloggers explode after networking with more established bloggers. The problem is new bloggers usually have no idea how to connect with these well established bloggers. This post will cover the different ways which I have gained guest posts and perhaps help you increase your chances of guest posting on a well established blog.

First things first when looking for a suitable blog to guest post on you want to make sure they have a large readership 20k + readers as well as decent PR (which suggests it is well liked and not brand new). You should also be check to see if the blog allows guest posts which you can check by going through its archives. So you have found a blog which is in your niche, well established, and allows guest posts. The next step to take is begin building a relationship with the blogger through connecting with twitter, facebook, and commenting on their blog. Which from one article gives you thirty backlinks published on blogs that you choose. Is it better than going from article directory to article directory? Heck yes and that is why I use this system rather than manual article submission. Anyway it is a great system, but what else is there. Now let me explain what this new program is about. Comment Kahuna is a browser and searches the internet just like your internet explorer or firefox. The diffrence is it was built for internet marketers and it's primary purpose is to search out do follow blogs. You can search for do follow blogger, typepad, keyword luv, comment luv, and more. They also offer an autofill feature so you no longer need to put your name, email, and comment though I highly recommend writing a comment relevant to the post since it will have a much better chance to get posted. Internal Linking and Networking

When you build your first website usually it is depressing when the stat counter you have pasted says 0 day after day. This will usually be the case for about 6 months until you learn how to build free website traffic. There are a couple basic steps which you will need to learn before having organic traffic will even be a possibility. The first step is creating a web presence that has good quality keyword rich content. The second step is a bit more tricky and that is creating keyword anchored one way backlinks. Remember having good SERPs position is key when trying to learn how to make money online. This article is going to go beyond the basics and reach into the more advanced aspects of internet marketing such as creating backlinks by creating a user generated website therefore not having to create any backlinks yourself. I have personally used several means when doing this the most successful being a forum and the second most successful being a wordpress blog submitted to the free traffic system.

The reason I call this article networking and linkbuilding is I will be going over why you should be linking all of your websites together when trying to increase backlinks as well as providing your websites with a solid keyword anchored navigation. One mistake many webmasters make is after creating a website they think the work is done. I have personally found it is extremely difficult to be on top of Google with only one website especially if it is static. The most common websites on top of Google are websites within a network. There are many simple free web presences that you can build after the completion of your website that will help advance it higher in the SERPs. If you do not have a blog to help your website then visit blogger.com or wordpress.com and start one for free. If you don’t have the time to blog then squidoo.com and hubpages.com allows you to build single pages free and send backlinks to your website. Free scripts are also out there so even if you do not know php or other server side codes you can create interactive websites such as forums. I used the free script at phpbb.com to create my forum and found every single post that is made is another backlink towards a few of my websites since I placed links on the main template. The backlinks have really soared since I did this and my competition has to work overtime just to keep up.

The last topic I would like to cover is making sure to have an internal linking structure which promotes your website within the SERPs. Too often I have landed on a website and found they use the word home to point to their main index page. This is a huge mistake. When you create your navigation be sure to first have the link back to your index on all sub pages and replace the word home or index with your websites title or your most wanted keywords. You should also put the keywords towards your main sub pages in your navigation so they too will receive the SEO benefits.

Learn From Scammers and Spammers

I hate to say it, but simply the only reason that these two still exist is their ability to market. In this post I will be going over both and how to accomplish using their tactics without going across into spam or scams. First you need to understand the difference between these two and exactly what each one is. A scam or scammer is someone marketing a product or service which has no actual use or value. The best example of this is a pyramid scheme which is somewhat like a affiliate marketing website the only difference is the affiliate marketing website acquires income from either advertisers or some other external source whereas a pyramid scheme makes money from the downline of existing members. I don't know if any pyramid schemes still exist and to tell you the truth I really don't care, there is tons of affiliate marketing websites though. One popular affiliate website is Amazon. Now the big one which I market and make most of my money is:

It is a survey website which gains its income from advertisers who are looking for gaining insight from customers and they are willing to pay for it. Now the reason I really like this survey site rather than others is first it is free to join. When you are out on the web trying to gain referrals for affiliate programs it is important that the site is free. Remember what I said about pyramid schemes they gain income from their members internally rather than offering a worth while service or product. Cash Crate offers companies a chance to see what their customers want by running surveys.

So before working with a company find out where it gains income and how long it has been around. If it is still brand new then you may want to pass. I found out the hard way spending time with a new company can turn into a big loss when the company goes under. I sent hundreds of people to a ppc website where they were paid to click on ads and read emails. Well a couple months later they went under not paying me or the people I sent. Just remember it is important to check before you jump in head first.

Now spammers are the people who place ads anywhere. They are not bad people just really annoying since they lack internet etiquette. One thing they are decent at is getting links, but if they were more tactful their links would probably stick around a little longer. These are the guys who go to forums and rather than post useful content they post an ad about their company. It is important to learn from these people. They do work hard and got the right thing on their mind which is links. Now if you keep links in mind, but gain some etiquette you will be doing good. Go to a forum with the thought of getting links (this is fine), but rather than posting ads put some good content and place your links where they belong which is the signiture. I really try to teach people how to be good marketers at my forum~ Internet Marketing Forum, but I still run into those who go place their ads on my forum then leave. I of course delete any posts they have made making sure they do not gain any links.

One guy I warned about putting ads actually had the balls to put 30 or so more ads so rather than giving him a second warning I banned his email and IP. Don't let this happen to you forums are everywhere and are a great place to gain info and links as long as you put good content rather than crap. If you know nothing about the category of the forum then post a question and start learning. Once you have asked enough you will be able to post answers. Anyway watch these guys they both have something to offer don't follow in their footsteps, but keep their tactics in mind when marketing your website.

Google SERPs Is Changing Big

As I continue to run check after check I have noticed considerable changes within the Google index. The first and probably biggest change is my websites and blogs not coming up high in the SERPs for closely associated keywords. Before if I typed in a keyword which was very close to a keyword I was building links for I would show up. For example I worked hard on the keyword make money online free and was showing up within the top hundred for make money online. Well I checked and now Google is not even listing me in the top 1000 for make money online. I understand that I did not build links for this keyword, but I was ranked high and the thousands of links that I built were closely related to the keyterm.

This is when I realized that Google is no longer guessing what sites should be ranked for which keywords. Before they would allow a website to rank high for multiple keywords as long as they related to the keyword which the webmaster was building links for. Well the change happened and now from what I am seeing you must bulid links for the keywords which you would like to rank well for. This means building links for every keyword or term you would like to rank well for. What will be nice is there will be less competition in the long tailed keyword department so keywords which have low traffic will be a waste of time for most webmasters and easily taken by the newer webmasters. This also means that you should not spend to much time only working on one keyword and really spread out your SEO and link building campaign to take all keywords which are associated with your main keyword.

Focus On Your Brand

One thing before we begin is branding does not mean you have to have a multimillion dollar corporation. Anyone can build a brand around there web presence or name. Bloggers usually specialize in separating themselves from the crowd so I will be using them as examples when discussing branding. Now the first blogger which built their name from their presence rather than name is Darren over at Pro Blogger. Most people in the blogosphere has heard of Pro Blogger, but not the blogger behind the blog. He focuses on making the name "Pro Blogger" bigger than his name for a reason. This is branding taking the website name and making it well known. Now let's move onto a blogger who has branded his name. The blogger who sticks out in my mind when I think of who made a brand out of his name is John Chow over at JohnChow.com. Everything including the domain has his name in it and that was his plan to brand his name then associate it with making money online.

Now lets move onto my thoughts on branding. The first and one of the most important factors when trying to brand your web presence or name is gaining the trust of both visitors and competitors in your niche. If everyone hates you then expect to do poorly and have horrible things written about you within your niche. When the average Joe types in keywords for your niche and a post trashing you comes up. Guess what happens when that guy visits your website, they bounce. Well this is why making enemies may get you backlinks, but it is a much better idea to get backlinks from friends. If you get a circle of friends going rather than enemies then you will find backlinks left and right. So be careful when interacting.

Now gaining trust from your traffic is just as important. It can and will damage your brand if you get caught lying and refuse to retract your statement. Whenever possible double check the facts of your content attempting to come as close as possible to the truth. The next and last step I would like to discuss when it comes to branding marketing and networking are key. You will want to build backlinks everywhere and anywhere that are both relevant and high authority. Niche directories are a great start as well as niche forums. Internet marketing is a blank landscape with many trying to paint at the same time. Everyone knows a little, but there is no definitive guide whether it is social media, SEO, link building, or any other aspect of an internet marketing campaign. Now if you want to be successful there are a few different things that will help you succeed. This article is going to focus on making sure to round your marketing campaign so it encompasses as many aspects as possible not letting possible clients, readers, visitors, or whatever you consider your target audience slip away. After reading this article you should be able to take a good look at your internet marketing campaign and hopefully make adjustments so you do not allow a decrease of visitors or income.

The basics of internet marketing which you should have in your marketing campaign are content creation, link building, social media optimization, search engine optimization, and branding. Personally I believe that content creation is the most crucial factor for a successful internet marketer since the internet and its audience is driven by a constant stream of unique helpful content. Link building is another important aspect that is done popular will help drive your web presence to the top of search engines. One of the newer aspects of internet marketing is social media optimization and marketing. One good example of this is when I think of blogging I think of Darren over at problogger he did a fantastic job of becoming the expert of his niche.

If you are a webmaster who has done all of these then it is time for you to begin making up new ways to market your website. I have always found it useful when I get “stuck” to start something I have never done before. Watch Your Little Green Bar

As everyone knows the Page Rank bar on your google tool bar is losing importance when it comes to direct impact on SERPs (search engine result pages). So why does Google keep that little green bar? Well it still is a major factor when trying to decide the importance of a single page. When I say watch your green bar I do not mean for your own site. I have learned from experiance that low PR high SEO'd web pages can fair much better in search engines. Especially if they pay attention to anchor text when building backlinks. So what can us as internet marketers use this little green bar for?

Well I think I have something which may be useful. I say we use the green bar to determine what a backlink will be worth. Let say you enjoy blog commenting and use this as a means of marketing. Well rather than comment on any post wait until you know what the posts PR is then comment on it. Now I think that the authority of a page is a mix between the place on Google SERPs and Page Rank. I am sorry if this post is a little jumbled I am just trying to put a new internet marketing tactic together one which I have never heard of. Anyway we need to find a page which you can post to or comment on which has a high PR and high SERPs position. I have been working with a few diffrent searches, but have not yet found the right kind. One of these searches which turned up in a complete bust was my search for the precious .edu link. I searched for "forums .edu". Now it worked great I found tons of .edu forums, but the problem was none of these forums were open to the public.

So I found a list of 1000 .edu blogs which I spent some time commenting on. Anyway it worked somewhat most the links were no follow though. Anyway what I propose is you go to google search for your keywords. You should have a list of 20-50 that have to do with your topic. I recommend going into advanced search and having Google list 100 sites at a time. Search for a term such as (if your niche is fishing) sucker fish or gold fish. Then pay close attention to the URLs under the titles. If you cross a blogger blog, wordpress, squidoo lense, ezine article, or any thing like it stop read the article and post a comment. A few things to look for is the pr of the post and the rank of the page. You should also be aware of how many other people posted comments on that post, lense, hub, or article.

I also recommend you look for diffrent ways to search google. I know of a "keywords" + "keyword luv" search. Also look for solid lists to find backlinks. If you find one bookmark it and go back over and over to gain good quality backlinks. I will give you one of mine since I have hundreds it is a do follow directory which has been growing quite a bit. Someone Build A Guest Post Marketplace

You know I have been working and working on trying to figure out which diffrent NEW ways to market a website. Well I figured out one area online that has remained untouched and I feel can be a great new platform where bloggers find content. Now I spent a little while searching a guest post marketplace. Here is my idea (which I hope one of you make a reality). Take a forum, blog, or some other type of platform and transform it into a marketplace where bloggers come and post guest post opportunities. Then webmasters or bloggers come to the marketplace with articles and offer to give a blogger an article free of charge in return for a backlink. I think this would be huge and allow older bloggers to take a break while new bloggers get a little promotion and stat boost.

Now this will be a full time gig whoever starts this and should expect to work quite a bit. I as well as many bloggers would love to be able to get free content that is unique to our blogs for the price of one link and I would also be willing to write articles for a backlink. I think it would really take off in the blogosphere and should at least be tried. I know websites such as Constant Content have made it huge buy setting up a marketplace which content is bought and sold rather than traded for links. Anyway just something for you guys to think about I would do it myself, but as it is I am a bit overwhelmed with the amount of presences I already have. If someone decides to give it a try please leave a comment and tell everyone about it. Stop Forcing Your Visitors!

Traffic is a gift not a commodity it is something earned and should be treated with the utmost respect. As I roam the web time after time I run into "jerks" that make me do this or that before I get to read or acquire certain things. Guess what I do when a website tells me to do something; I click out never to visit that website again. Now if a website treats me right and lets me in to their info or whatever they offer without stupid hurdles they will usually get plenty of link love from all of my high PR websites and blogs. As an internet marketer I understand the want to gain a visitors email address or at least more info, but not letting a visitor gain access to your web page until they give their email (which most people fear because of spam). So rather than letting the visitor on their page these webmasters force them to give up their personal email and validate it. DONT DO THIS.

Now lets move into a discussion on how to make a USER friendly website or blog. First and foremost everything done with your presence should encourage visitor enjoyment and interaction. When visitors like coming to your website they will be likely to share it with others and after a while your stat counter will explode. You must be friendly and on social networking sites. Set up a blog so you can post your ideas and when people comment you can comment back actually setting up a discussion. Start a forum for the ultimate discussion and interaction platform I started mine using a free script at phpbb. Now if your not a good web designer(making your presence look pretty) such as myself then look for free templates. I Love Twitter Tools

As you guys know (if you have been reading for a little while) I love twitter apps and tools. This will be a short little post, but full of some good info. First off one great site I used for a while was Huitter.com worked great for when I wanted to follow anyone that followed me as well as unfollowing all who did not follow back. This was my ideal site and I still highly recommend it to you guys. Now what sucks is for some odd reason twitter suspended access to this app so I was up the creek without a paddle. Well I found the Huitter replacement and I gave it a shot and found it worked great. If your looking for a tool to:

1. Unfollow anyone who is not following you

2. Follow those who follow you

3. Get a quick 20 followers per use of this app

Now each of these you can choose you don't have to do all three. If you would prefer to do one or two the app has check boxes which you can use. Anyway this is a great app I would really recommend you checking it out. Anyway here is the link~ Twitter Mutuality. Now I just started using this app so I don't have much experiance with it. Marketing A New Website

After the creation of your first website the next step you will want to take is constructing a marketing campaign to fit the website you created. The foundation of internet marketing remains similar for most of the different types of websites, but there will be small differences depending on the type of presence you set up. For example backlinks are much more important for a static website and content creation will be the most important aspect of marketing a forum or blog. Two important things that you will need no matter what type of presence you build is the basics of SEO and plenty of keyword anchored backlinks. After reading this article you should have a basic understanding of basic SEO and where to gain backlinks.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the process of optimizing a webpage so it is indexed appropriately in search engines. The most common search engine a website is optimized for is Google which is the search engine I will most commonly be referring to. When you optimize a website for Google there are several things that you should be aware of. The first is your website will be primarily indexed by the content on your website. If you would like to be indexed for the keywords “make money online” then it will be important to have the keywords make money online at least once in the content and in one of the titles. You should also be focused on the meta tags. When it comes to Google the ones that matter will be the title and description since these will be displayed to the user after a Google search. Attempt to write the most provocative title and description making sure to never stray from what your site is about. I have also found that having a fresh stream of unique content will benefit your placement in the SERPs so attempt to write about your niche and place it on your presence therefore increasing your position, traffic, and income.

The second part of internet marketing that you will want to accomplish after site creation and basic optimization is building backlinks towards your website. There are many places which you will be able to do this my favorite is The Free Traffic System which you can find by doing a Google search. Another few places that will help (which you can also find by searching Google) are V7N Forums, Directory Critic, and Webmaster Elements. All of these will provide the ability for a new webmaster to gain thousands of external one way links towards their website and the majority will allow you to place keywords in place of the URL. This should be done whenever building backlinks you will want keywords in between the anchor tags rather than placing your URL.

Running A Network Rather Than A Web Presence

Well I really want to speak about the importance of running a network rather than a web presence. First I would like to explain what my definition of a network. I think of your online network as more than one web presences working together pushing each other up. You can of course have more than two, but never less. Personally I started with a website at Make Money Free. I learned everything I know about marketing and running a website with this website. Finally I started a couple blogs including this one and Online Business Basics. I really enjoy writing so my blogs are doing quite well. Now I had these three things I started to see how I could market each one separately then when the time was just right I could push my website with both blogs. If there was a post I thought would bring in a substantial amount of traffic I could also update my site and drive traffic from my site to the post which would increase readership on the blog.

Well two blogs and one site would probably be enough for most people, but I really felt like growing my network and went with a forum. The first forum I created had 50 people and was somewhat active, but rather than running a free script I went with having the forum itself hosted on a free server kinda like wordpress free blogs that you can start with a free sub domain on their server. Well this sucked so I decided recently to try the whole forum thing once more this time on my server and on my domain using the free script phpbb (which you can find by doing a quick Google search or just go to phpbb.com). Anyway the new forum I have been working on is an internet marketing forum called Kings Of Marketing. It has had a slow start, but members are slowly joining.

With the forum I have seen an major increase in backlinks for all websites which I placed on the template of the forum. When someone posts on a forum that post is a brand new page which therefore gives me a backlink and if the forum really takes off I could be looking at hundreds of thousands of backlinks. Now I did the same thing with my blogs which have helped increase backlink counts for my websites and also when I cross link the blog each post will give numerous backlinks to many of my different web presences. The last type of presence I have been working on is squidoo pages and hub pages. You can build these at Squidoo or Hubpages. These are excellent for creating a page either for link bait or to show case a product or affiliate program. The two pages which I have seen the most productivity is Free Backlinks and Get Paid To Take Surveys. Both of these are squidoo pages and both I have been able to raise in the SERPs so they have by themselves created traffic and income. Also they have their own page rank and have provided free one way links that have helped my other presences succeed within the SERPs.

After reading this you should be thinking of different places which you can create web presences and grow your network therefore increasing the chances of gaining new clients. I highly recommend making as many as you can making sure not to spam, but rather create useful content.

Gaining Multiple Links From One Source

A debate argued constantly by webmasters, but one that needs to be looked at seriously. When you begin building backlinks this will be one question you should ask yourself "will it help my site to acquire more than one backlink from this source?". Well my opinion is clear two backlinks from the same source is better than one as long as the source contains PR (Page Rank). I will admit that I still think that there rests importance in PR though it has little or nothing to do with SERPs (search engine result pages). PR is how Google decides the importance of a website and high SERPs position is given to the website which is optimized the best and acquires the most authoritative relevant backlinks.

The reason that most believe gaining two backlinks from the same source does not count is usually when a website allows more than one link they are a social media, blog, or forum. Single pages on these usually carry very low link juice and require quite a few backlinks before you will see improvement. Now the reason I have gone with more links to one source is valuable is because Google giving each URL it's own unique Page Rank and SERPs position. If you look at squidoo you will find an array of different pages ranking well for every different keyword under the sun they will also have many different page ranks. Personally I have two ranked well and one has a PR of 2 the other a PR of 1. They are in the same niche though are a bit different keyword wise. If I was in the make money niche and I saw these two pages pretty much standing alone search wise I would want to gain backlinks from them both even though they are both sub pages of squidoo.com.

I have also seen this quite often in forum where a solid post can sometimes have more rank than the forum itself. If you gain one backlink from a websites home page and it is a PR of 2 then gain a backlink from a sub page of that website which has a PR of 4 don't you think that both of these links will be benificial to raising your SERP position or do you think Google will only give you credit for one and if so which one. I think that Google will give you link juice for both, but the only people who know for sure is Google.

Understanding Press Releases

This post is inspired by questions asked on this blog. Now personally I have never paid for any of my traffic, but I do have a good understanding of paid marketing.

First you must understand how a press release fits into the internet marketing world. A press release is where reall world marketing meets real world marketing. Usually you will have a choice between either a free press release or a paid press release. This is one of the few charging marketing campaigns which I will endorse. If you spend money somewhere such as http://www.free-press-release.com they give you many diffrent options. If you would like go to the site look at prices and features. I will go over some of the free options compared to paid options here.

First lets look at a free press release distribution. If you register for a free account and submit a free press release it of course costs nothing. With the free version they do very little for you the release will be indexed into Google within 24 hours (great way to be indexed) it will be shown instantly, but other than that it is pretty much the same as submitting an article to a directory. Sure you get backlinks, but they just throw it on their website and forget about it.

Now lets check out what you get for $30.00 (premium package). First I notice that the release will be indexed within Google in a hour rather than a day very helpful for those trying to get indexed quickly. Next I see that they allow an image and will send your PR to all of their subscribers. You will also be able to remove the ad links, the release will be added to an extra page, and you will be able to bulid a seperate page just for your press release.

Now for those who do not have the thirty bucks the free one will of course be the only choice. For those who have thirty, but were planning on spending every last dime on an adwords account think about this. What seperates a press release from other forms of paid advertising? Well a press release is for those wanting news to put on their website, radio station, and TV Channel. You have a chance being picked up by a news station getting coverage and from that thirty dollars rather than getting a hundred visitors you gain thousands. If you submit a good release that is sent to all the reporters and people looking for news and they like your story then you have a chance to gain thousands of backlinks by ending up on all the news sites and affiliated website (websites that take the stories from news sites and publish them on their site). This chain reaction can take an unknown presence and make it an authority over night.

Now this is the best case possible usually what will occur with that thirty dollars is a few hundred hits and a few hundred backlinks (which I can build within a few hours at The Free Traffic System). Remember you are trying to get the attention from news agencies so if you do not have anything news worthy stay away from these sites they will not help. At most write a short release and submit for a free backlink, but other than that don't expect anything if you have nothing exciting about your website. There are many other means in which you will be able to do well rather than news such as old fashioned backlink building. The only way to have a successful press release campaign is if your story is actually news worthy if so you may wind up gaining 20,000 backlinks of one story, but if it is like the rest of the websites just trying to get by then a press release will probably not help.

Working With Content Creation

I know this is a topic I cover again and again, but I found something quite interesting. I found that after I took all the articles off my site How To Make Money Online the traffic and SERPs placement dropped significantly. Now there are several bloggers out there that say content has nothing to do with marketing and the only thing that counts is backlinks. I find this is true to a point, but there are many other factors which should be taken into account before you build 100k backlinks to your site without having any content to back it up. One thing should be clear I am working in one of the most spammed niches and one of the most competitive. I have seen everything under the sun trying to get google to notice and few see the results I have seen. I have been on the first page for make money online and make money online free both well searched terms and after I took my article directory down I noticed the fall off the first page for make money online.

When I say content I don't mean a couple paragraphs per page explaining your product or affiliate program. I am talking about major constant content creation. On my make money site I had over 300 articles explaining everything from how to make money online to everything internet marketing. Google had indexed several hundred of my articles and began putting the articles first for the title. I have also created a couple of blogs and used The Free Traffic System to place articles on the blogs usually 10-20 a day. I had to stop since I was using free servers and they overloaded, but found extremely positive results from mass content creation. I have also created a forum which has had a slow start, but I expect to see grow at Kings Of Marketing which by the way you can ask me anything about marketing if you wish.

To end I would like to explain what I will be doing. Rather than focusing 100% of my time on building links to my website, blogs, and forum I will be spending about 75% of the time on content creation and the rest on backlinks. I do not want to sway your from your old backlink building ways, jut remember that people come to your site for something and usually it is your content so keep it fresh and innovative. Find new ways to create mass content whether it is from a blog which you allow writers to post on, a forum which users create your content, or any other means of mass content creation.

If you have ever watched TV you have seen branding at its finest. Companies such as Walmart, Microsoft, and Pepsi spend millions of dollars each and every year making sure everyone knows their name. Now online it is a little different, no longer do you need to have millions in your bank account. Today we stand on an open playing field with anyone being able to set themselves apart even to the extent of beating major companies. Without money it is going to take a tremendous amount of work and patience, but when all is said and done it will be possible to stand above the wikis, major chain stores, and others well known names. First I would like to discuss some people who I respect greatly and who have branded themselves to an amazing extent having a few hundred thousand followers something Walmart or Microsoft would pay millions for.

First let’s start with my favorite which is Darren over at problogger.net. Right now he has 134 thousand readers and it seems to be on a constant increase. This is a prime example of how one man can lead thousands becoming more popular than the million dollar companies. The reason for such a popularity is he connected/connects with the blogosphere proves he is the expert and provides a constant stream of content. When Darren makes a move or does something new it streams across the web with great speed. Another person who makes a huge difference online is Cricket & John Scott over at the V7N webmaster network. They decided to really expand on the traditional website or blog. Rather than setting up one or two presences they set up a full network equipped with a blog, a fully functioning forum, and a directory. They offer a bit more, but these are the core. Anyway they now have around a hundred thousand people on the forum and many blog readers. So how did they reach such a feat? Well it comes down to the core of humanity they noticed that forums that were up and running chastised members not letting them speak freely using so many rules that the majority of members were getting banned. This was the beginning of an idea which sparked the growth of a webmaster community rivaled by only the top of the top. They let community members speak their mind and place a domain knowing the difference between an actual question and spam something other forum admins know nothing about. Anyway they provided a true community for webmasters.

This brings us to what you can do when out their trying to make your presence known. Well first thing is keeping your ambitions in check remember it takes YEARS to really build a brand which is why the majority fail. Personally I think that social networking is a great step for those who want to really start building a brand. After the creation of a web presence get on twitter, facebook, and the other major networking sites. Make sure to place your links to these profiles on your web presence and as traffic starts following your and becoming friends on facebook be sure to add them and talk with them. Tell them about your experiences and what you are doing. It is even OK to tell them how you feel trust me they like that. Remember this is not the place to spam, but rather build up your online profile. When people really like you on twitter they retweet your tweets. This is key to making your brand online get people to like, trust, and believe in you and your brand will grow and grow.

Well I don't know why, but after I built my directory at Free Link Directory it was not enough so I decided to build a forum. I call it Kings Of Internet Marketing. Now with it I decided to let users have 3 links in their sig from the very first post. I also allow a sig from the first post so their is not a waiting period. As long as your posting good quality content you will be building links and start doing better in the SERPs. I plan on doing a good size link building campaign, but when people see an empty forum they don't think it worthwhile to join so I need your guys help getting started. Well I am Moving To Unlimited Hosting

Luckily not with this blog since I have not had a problem with exceeding bandwidth, but my blog Whitehat Internet Marketing on the other hand is growing at an amazing rate so I decided to not take any chances and upgrade from free hosting to paid hosting. I got a deal for 6 a month which is not to bad since everything is truly unlimited. It is a good feeling to be given unlimited access to a server. Anyways I just wanted to keep you guys up on what I am doing. Let's get into some e-marketing concepts.

First thing I would really like to talk about is keep changing your marketing plan. Google is always searching for the sites which are not popular and are being marketed only by their webmasters. To them these are bad sites usually and if Google catches on they will not give them very good placement which is why when marketing you don't want to beat a dead horse and be in a constant state of change. I personally really like exploring the social medias for new websites which allow you to either post a profile or a link. These are excellent opportunities to showcase your web presences and build your brand. If your looking for a list I have a post 55 Social Bookmarking Sites. Please take the time and build your profile on each one then submit all of your presences.

Another thing I would like to bring up really quick is when you are a blogger social bookmarking is your best friend. Most of these sites allow you to submit every single post meaning you will not get one link from high authority high pr sites, but many. Anyway submit each and every post to at least 10 or so major bookmarking sites.

Now with the directory submission don't beleive the new guys when they say this is a dead form of link building. If someone says this please call them out and say "YOUR AN IDIOT!" really you don't need to explain yourself. I found this out quickly when I built a directory for free ~ Link Directory. Now the personal results that I saw after the creation of the directory my serps rank for my site How To Make Money Online cut in half for the keywords how to make money online. I was 400 and when I checked today I was 212 still bouncing a little, but overall doing quite well. Anyway another example is The Open Directory Project which AOL works with closley and Google uses for info on websites.

Now to close I have been thinking of a couple posts, but I am not sure if you guys would like them. I was thinking of a How To Build Backlinks going over some diffrent resources which I use, a How To Upload Wordpress, or a How To Build a Directory for free. Big 100: What's Next?

Wow I started this blog a few months back and never thought I would reach the 100th post. Through it all I have gained thousands of backlinks for this blog and with your help. I have seen some of my websites grow into power houses taking over Google for keywords which net 50,000+ search volume monthly. I have created squidoo pages, a forum, a directory, learned wordpress and other PHP/MYSQL sites. Studied and spoke with the greats of both internet marketing and blogging. I HAVE EARNED MONEY ONLINE! How many people actually get the chance to pay their car payment every month with online revenue. After doing a couple searches I have been considered an expert in internet marketing and online business by some blogs and on forums. So what is next? I seem to be running out of diffrent ways to gain backlinks, content, seo a site, and master the web 2.0.

I guess I should keep you up on what I am working on. I just busted my but building a directory please submit your site for FREE at ~ Free Link Directory make sure to get your links in now because when it begins to gain PR I will probably stop letting free links in and require payment or recipriocal. Another thing I have been working on is having a constant stream of content for my website How To Make Money Online. You guys have seen my blog Whitehat Internet Marketing which is at around 600 posts. With very little marketing it easily climbed to the top ten for the keywords whitehat internet marketing because of the massive content creation. Well I decided to try the same thing on my site creating a sub domain. Anyway at this point in time it has no posts because The Free Traffic System has not yet approved the blog. By the way The Free Traffic System is where I have built around 5 thousand backlinks for my websites and blogs if you want to be top 10 you need to join. Stay Caught Up On New Internet Marketing Concepts

One of the greatest challenges which faces webmasters today is the access of information concerning basic to advanced internet marketing. One thing is certain there is no one stop shop and internet marketing is a constantly changing process. This is not a bad thing (since there is no actual "degree") anyone can be an internet marketer. You will find around 90% of the webmasters/bloggers online today have no clue how to market a website and when it comes to SEO I would guess the number of ignorant grows. After reading this post you will not understand internet marketing, but you will know about several great sources which you can go to if you would like to learn quality internet marketing.

The first step which any up and coming internet marketer should take is joining forums which promote white hat ways of marketing and do no allow any ideas which will lead you to get banned. The other forum which I have gotten a few good marketing ideas is Digital Point which you can find by doing a Google search. The best thing about the forums is they allow you to ask the specific questions which you can not find answers to by doing a Google search.

After you have signed up for the forum and begin learning there it is time to move into the blogosphere. I must warn you remember about the 90% of the people online not knowing jack about internet marketing everyone of those people probably have blogs and are spurting out how to reach Google top 10. You will see such ideas such as stuffing keywords throughout your page, gaining links from anywhere, and all around bad ideas which will lead you to getting banned from Google's index. So before you begin trying what a blogger is teaching be sure you have a good idea of what will get you banned. Here is a page which will explain what not to do when marketing Black Hat Techniques. Now I would like to recommend some bloggers which I follow and know they do not promote bad ideas.

A couple of SEO tools which i use is:

1. Google Adwords Tool ~~ Which tells you the monthly search volume of any given keyword or keyterm.

2. SERPs Checker ~~ Which shows you the location of your website for any term up to 1000.

3. Google Insights Tells you the popularity of a keyterm over a long time period.

Auto Blog Is Kicking My Ass

For those who have been reading they know a couple of weeks ago I started an auto blog. It is called Whitehat Internet Marketing and over the past couple weeks it has been posted to over 300 times. I of course got it indexed within Google quite quickly and now I am surprised to find that the traffic is exceeding this blog. Usually I moderate 4 or 5 comments daily on this blog, what really surprised me is I am moderating 10+ comments on my auto blog. This has brought a new factor in my understanding of SEO and linkbuilding.

What does content creation have to do with rankings, traffic, and overall success of a website or blog? This is a question that has been surfacing ever since I have seen my auto blog start exploding within a couple of weeks. I am quite confused and really wondering if it is just a fluke or if it is the start to a great thing. I do have one theory and that is each time someone posts it gives an automatic link back to the home page. Like I said over a couple of weeks the blog has had over 300 posts and growing rapidly so I guess I will have a good control when I test what is better mass content creation or link building. Anyways I don't know much right now, but after watching this blog go I think I may be onto something. I will of course be keeping you guys up to date.

Now if you want a auto blog there is a couple things you need to do. The first is get free hosting then set up a fully functional wordpress platform on the server. The Free Traffic System is the website which facilitates the contstant publishing on my blog you need to sign up and follow their instruction on how to submit a blog. Everything is free and if you do it you will have a blog which is being posted to constantly and perhaps see the same growth that I have seen. The Difference between SEO and SEM

SEM is one of the newer terms within the webmaster world and is quite frequently mixed up with SEO which is completely different. SEM means Search Engine Marketing and is the process of buying top placement or preferred placement from search engines. If you use Google adwords you are using SEM to promote your website. There is nothing really special about this form of marketing and is for those who have a bank account or very little time to perform SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Personally I have no experience with this since I am an SEO expert I have no problem getting traffic through free means. One problem that I have noticed with SEM is lately with some of the search engines it has compromised SEO. Websites such as ask.com place one good listing then 5 sponsored listings then the rest of the actual organic results. Other search engines are better listing fewer and others worse listing up to ten paid listing before the websites who are actually brought up for the terms. Either way SEM is the main form of income for search engines and is not going away anytime soon.

SEO on the other hand is when a webmaster constructs his website in a way which it will perform well in the search engines without having to pay them for first page placement. It is a way in which the rich online and poor are picked since the rich are the ones at top of all the major search engines. This is an internet marketers biggest challenge and is a challenge which is constantly changing and making an internet marketer or SEO expert change their marketing formulas with the changing algorithms. When you begin SEO it will seem overwhelming, but after a year or two of work you will find yourself with the ability to at least gauge the amount of work it takes to reach the top of Google and other major search engines for any given key term. If you have spent this year or so practicing techniques then you should also have a couple presences up on top of Google for at least mildly competitive keywords.

What should the average internet marketer invest in. This is a question which is throughout webmaster forums and a hot topic in debates whether or not buying traffic from search engines rival working hard and reaching the top of Google free of charge. The advice I would offer you is unless you have a $50,000 dollar marketing account and absolutely no time to commit to free marketing then SEM is a viable option. For the rest stick with learning the basics of SEO which you can do by searching Google for free seo tutorial and also signing up for the webmaster forum V7N Forums.

Everyone Needs Lots Of Links

I just got done building a few different websites. The two big ones are Edgar Allan Poe and my auto blog (I have not wrote one post:) whitehat Marketing. I noticed that both were indexed in Google within an hour and started getting hits within a couple days. The thing that really surprised me was the hits were organic. So I built a couple sites and did some basic marketing and within a couple days I was getting organic traffic (not alot), but a couple here and there. It took me a few months when I started my first site How To Make Money Online to get a "few organic hits", but days with these new sites.

I was sitting trying to figure out how I got this so quickly then decided it was everyone needs links. When I started the sites I placed links on all of my presences (around 40) ranging from PR 0 to PR 3 and that was all she wrote. This was enough to place me at the top of the SERPs for very low competitive keywords. I have said it before you need keyword anchored links to push sites to the top of Google.

So backlinks are the foundation of a marketing campaign, but what does this really mean. Well if you have videos on youtube it means for each video I recommend building at least 1000 links to each video. This will take quite a bit of time, but you will find it worthwhile when your hit counts are through the roof and subscribers are lining up down the street. When you put up a squidoo page guess what that means you should be building 1000 links towards that page. This should be done with all of your presences and the number 1000 is only a starting point. These links are what will seperate you from your competition and will really help you out when you need high quality one way links for your newer websites.

Now if your wondering where to get the links I have a list of the best places just scroll down this site and on the right side you will see "my best posts" there are plenty of places to get links. Personally the place that I get my links and the place which has pushed me to the top of Google fore competitive keywords is The Free Traffic System. I have used the system and it has pushed me to the top of Google for such phrases as make money free, make money online free, how to make money free, earn money online free, and many others. Anyway remember no matter what you should be building links and building them by the thousands.

When Marketing Always Go Manual

There are many different ways which you can market your website and the majority of webmasters on the web today agree that building backlinks is still the best way to reach the top of Google and other major search engine sites. Building backlinks is an extremely tedious task and most will give up before they even begin seeing a payoff for their efforts. Others opt for the easy road which is the auto submitters,which of course leads their website being placed on very poor quality web presences which are link farms. Any website which does not have a review process and whos main priority is to increase backlink counts is considered a link farm. These are the type of presences which you should be avoiding when marketing and if they are giving you links for free and by the thousands then I highly recommend not using them.

If you would like to have a successful website then taking the time to submit your presence to each and every directory, article directory, and blog is crucial. The only exception I have seen to this rule has been the free traffic system which I have used and seen no adverse affect. On the other hand when I have used link farms I saw no positive affect on my website and luckily since Google only frowns on the links pointing out from a site I saw no negative affect. Take your time when marketing and if you are willing to put in the hours and submit to high quality websites then you will receive high quality traffic and start seeing a rise within the SERPs.

So automatic marketing tools are out (except for the free traffic system) what else is left? There are many diffrent places which you can gain both high quality links and traffic. First go to the webmaster forum v7n and Digital Point. These forums allow you to place a link in your signiture and will help you get traffic and links. When on the forum ask the webmasters in the community for a list of directories which they will give freely then start spreading your presence throughout social networking and bookmarking sites. It is also good to write articles and submit them to high quality article directories. My favorite markeitng is video markeitng (since I don't have to type) and one nice thing about you tube is they are in the top hundred most visted websites in the world so having a few hundred videos will bring you an audience quite large.

To The Top Of Google and Beyond

I really don't know where I got that title, but the discussion will be me talking about the different things I have noticed as I climb serp after serp. First off I am sorry that I have not posted recently I have been quite busy first finally getting around to a website dedicated to my favorite author Edgar Allan Poe and second building a internet marketing blog which is updated several times daily, but I don't actually write any of the articles Whitehat Internet Marketing. This is also the first blog which I have created on my own server with wordpress. Let me tell you if you are going to do this be sure you have some serious patience.

On to the discussion when internet marketing you are told build backlinks for a paticular keyword and you will rank well for that keyword. This is not the case all the time. One you need to research around and make sure that you can build enough backlinks to beat your competitors in that niche and second you don't always need to build for every keyword you rank well for. This second idea is where I got the idea for the post and is something which I am having a hard time understanding. I built thousands of backlinks for the terms How To Make Money Online and Make Money Online. Now I only rank in the top 200 which is what I expected thus far. What I did not expect is to be ranked in the top ten for keywords such as make money online free, make money free online, make money free, and quite a few others which I spent hardly any time with. I keep my rank on these and I am coming up on a few others which I did not expect as well.

So I have a couple thoughts on this. The first is Google looks through my site and associates keywords which I have not even thought of. Google sees that my site has a good amount of authority for a make money site and has the term make money online free in it. So they put two and two together and decide to place me on the top ten. Personally I find this very helpful and it is also I am sure the reason that Google is the number one search engine in the world.

So what does this mean to you. When going after terms go big. Go for the make money online which is a half million monthly search volume term or whatever the biggest term is. As you build the backlinks you will gain authority and as you build the authority you will rank for terms which you did not even think of. Building A New Website

Well I decided to try building another website to see if there is a diffrence between non-commercial and commercial websites. This website is about Edgar Allan Poe all of his works and biography. If you guys want follow check back time and again to see if it takes off faster than this blog or my site How To Make Money Online. Personally I think it will do much better since not only does it not sale anything there is really no way for me to make money. Money is not even mentioned. I think this will be the diffrence between a website reaching high rank and PR easily compared with a fight day in and day out.

Keep Track Of Your Websites Placement

One important aspect is knowing where your website is within the serps and other stats which are important for your website. There are many different checks you can do for your website. First is the simple backlink check. Personally I use two different checkers which are Yahoo's site explorer which you use by going to Yahoo's Search Engine and typing link:http://www.yourwebsite.com Yahoo will bring up the number of links and a list of who is linking to you. The second website which I trust to count backlinks is Google's webmaster tools. To use this checker you will need to sign up for a Google account and then sign up and verify your website at Google Webmaster Tools. I use to use third party websites until I spoke with another experienced webmaster and asked him which counters he used and he told me the only two that matter. He said why use a website which does not decide where you will be placed in the serps when the search engines you are so worried about will tell you exactly which links they are counting and how many of your links actually matter. It seems pointless having a website which has no authority of your placement tell you how many links you have if they say 10 million and Google says 50 guess what you will be at the bottom of the SERPs.

Webmaster tools has become imperative for webmasters. Now only will they tell you how many links you have and give a list of the top thousand websites linking to you they go much more in depth. My favorite aspect of Webmaster Tools is the SERPs tracker which tells me my top hundred keywords I am ranking well for. They not only let me know what keywords I am ranked well for but the keywords which are actually getting the click throughs. Here is a little example of my top ten keywords which my website How To Make Money Online ranks well for:

Anyway you can see what I am ranked for so I don't need to actually go to Google and type in each and every one. What is also nice they make the query into links so I click on one of the terms and it will go right to my position proving to me that I am ranked for that word. Anyway I don't know what I would do without webmaster tools and if you are not using it you really need to start.

Now the next step is keeping track of your visitors. For this again I have two main sources first Stat Counter which is a free counter that will give you decent reports on how much traffic you are getting where it is coming from and where they are leaving. I also really like Google Analytics which is a great resource with tons of graphs and reports that will tell you anything you want to know about your site. Both of these are great alone I prefer to have both, but really it is not neccessary.

The last subject I would like to cover is the value of a search term. Now for this I have two resources which I use both are quite powerful and will provide you with excellent info for whatever term you are wanting to learn about. The first is Google Adwords Tool. This is the tool which will tell you the search volume of a keyword for the previous month. Not the best for a long term unless you check the keyword monthly for a couple months. Now this is usually what makes me decide on what keywords to go after since I can see how many times last month any given terms was searched for. Now for the long term I use a diffrent tool which is Google Insights which is STILL in its beta, but offers very valuable info. This tool will tell you the popularity of a keyword over a period of time (1 month - years). You will be able to find up and coming terms and if a term has spiked and went back down. In other words let say you go to the adwords tool and they say for last month the key term website marketing had 2 million searches. You think it is a good term with plenty of traffic, but when you go to insights it says that the term had a 1000% increase over previous months which means more than likely it was a fluke month and the term will drop back down to its average. Anyway a great tool for those wanting to know what terms are popular and what terms should be avoided.

Build Links To Internal Pages

As any internet marketer knows links are the driving force behind the web and should be done by anyone to get their website to the top of Google and other search engines. Most out there choose to only build links towards their main URL/Index/Home page. This is a great way to start and should of course be done, but it should only be a starting point and the rest of your website should not be forgotten. Personally I recommend making sure every page that you would like someone to land on (click on from a search engine) has content worth building its own links, but being in the make money niche I know from personal experience that this is not always possible and there are alternatives for those who have a difficult time providing a steady stream of rich useful content on every single landing page.

First I would like to discuss internal link structure since like building links to sub pages is a forgotten art of today’s webmaster. Your internal link structure consists of all links that are on your site that point to another page (or same page), but do not point off your site. These are the links that you should have set up from an seo point of view. A couple of rules when setting up your internal link structure is first always and I mean ALWAYS optimize the link for the keywords you would like the page to do well on in the search engines. This means between your starting anchor and ending anchor you should place your keywords. The second thing about internal link structure I would like to discuss is the hierarchy. Your primary page or home page should only have links to your most important sub pages. Your important sub pages can carry the rest of the links outward/downward into your site. Every single page should have an optimized link to your home page and it is also good to have each and every page point towards your important/landing sub pages.

The next step after you have completed a linking campaign for your home page is to begin building links off your website towards your sub pages that are worthy landing pages. Remember just like building links towards your home page they should have keywords suited for the sub page between the anchor tags. When evaluating your seo be sure to pick ten or so keywords per serps position and track how well your sub pages are doing within the search engines rather than only worrying about your home page. Building links to your sub pages will also help build authority for your home page since the authority will pass from the links you build to your sub pages then as your sub pages build more authority they will pass it to your home page.

SEO Evaluation

Where I have made the majority of my money and one of the most important aspects of internet marketing is SEO. A SEO evaluation is when you go over your website and look intensively at your competition and keywords. This post is aimed at what you should be looking at for a basic evaluation. Usually when I do one for a client it usually takes me 12-24 hours of work before I am finished with the results analyzed. The evaluation I am going to go over with you should only take 6 hours or so since you will not be going into the same depth as when I work on my clients website. I will probably be going into more depth at a later time so be sure to become a reader and keep coming back. If you have read through this blog you will notice that I cover all aspects of web marketing from topics such as web 2.0 to building links and of course SEO (my favorite aspect of web marketing).

The most crucial part of a SEO evaluation is an overall understanding of keywords and how they apply to your web presence. First you need to decide which keywords you will be working with both on site and off site. I have found having around 10 keywords is a good rounded number and allows you plenty of leeway when marketing. You do not want to few since it will look to Google as if you are building links rather than having them come natural. You also will not want to many since you won't really get anywhere so between 5-15 should be your range. Once you have decided which keywords you want to attempt to reach the top of Google for the next step is make sure your site is SEO'd for those words.

After you have the list of keywords you want to reach the top for run them through Google adwords checker at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal to make sure that the keywords have enough traffic. The number it shows is a monthly average rather than the exact amount of searches. I have found around 50,000 searches monthly to be very profitable though the competition goes up with the amount of numbers. When you have ran your keyword selection through this tool and feel you have enough keywords and the search volume is appropriate pick your most searched word and place it in your URL (uniform resource locator) as well as in a h1 tag at the top of your site. It is also helpful to place it a couple times throughout your site being sure that you do not go over board. You should also put the rest of your keywords/keyterms at least once throughout your home page.

Next you will want to check to see your competition. Personally I stick with Google since they handle 60% or so of the worlds search volume. Search Google for each term and look at the top ten search results since you will want to be in the top ten for all of your keyterms and if you work hard enough this is a very realistic goal. You should not have a list of 100 sites that you will be looking at. This is the most time consuming process of the evaluation. First run every site through Yahoo's site explorer to see how many backlinks each of these have. Now thinking about it you will only need to run a couple for each term through to get a rough estimate of how many backlinks you will need (the more the better estimate).

Something that is interesting is the regular search on Google does not show exactly who is placing the keyterms in their anchor when building links. To see who is the top link builders for a certain term you will need to do a more specific Google search. For example if you look at my site How To Make Money Online you will notice that for the search on google make money free it is in the second place, but if you look at who is building links for make money free by doing the inanchor search I am number one. To do this search go to Google and type inanchor:"make money free" and this search will show me who has the most/best backlinks for this certain keyterm. I am number 1 for this search and have been so for quite some time though I am number 2 for a search of make money free. Anyway this shows that building links is the best way to reach the top for a keyword or term.

How I Market My Websites and Blogs

For this post I will be sharing with you everything which I do including what is going through my head as I market my websites and what I am trying to achieve. Remember there is no one way or right way to market a website or blog, but I do quite well in the SERPs and really have not problems getting traffic and making money online. I am still somewhat new only being on for a couple years, but have a decent grasp of internet marketing. Now the problem with this post will be the amount of information since I spend months and months on each and every web presence. I am sorry if it is somewhat scattered or difficult to read I will try to cover all the important points, but as I forget or remember things they will be inserted. Anyway I expect this to be one of my longest posts and I really hope you enjoy it.

Marketing especially SEO begins in the creation of your website, blog, forum, or whatever other web presence you are starting. First figure out what niche you would like to be a part of and focus on around 10 keywords you would like to be on the front page of Google for. As you are bouncing ideas there are two things you must do to really get to know your keywords the first being making sure the keyword is being searched for. To see the search volume of any given keyword or keyterm use this tool: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Using this tool will give you an idea of whether or not the keyword is worth working on. Do not spend a ton of time for anything under 1,000 a month. Really you should be looking in the range of 5,000-50,000 monthly searches for a keyword worth working on. Now this is only the first aspect of keyword research and usually is the one filled with hope and happy feelings since you are only looking at possible traffic rather than actual competition.

Now we move onto looking at the actual competition and for this I will be showing you a couple tricks one being how to look at your top ten competitors backlinks and finding who is linking to them as well as which websites are placing the keyword in their anchor text when building links. Remember this is advanced aspects of SEO and will take quite a bit of work.

The first check I would like you to do is simply type the keyword or term into Google. The first ten websites that come up will give you a good idea of what you will need to do in order to take the first page. Personally I really look at the first site since they reached the top of the top. Since backlinks are the backbone of serps placement run the top ten URL's through Yahoo's Site Explorer here the link: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/mysites

After running this check you will see how many pages your competitor has as well as the number of backlinks your competitor has acquired. This will give you the number of backlinks which you should be attempting to gain from websites and blogs within your niche. The second test I would like you to run is an operator for Google. It is a search you can do to find how many websites are placing certain words in their anchor text. Let say you want to be on the first page for make money online. When you type just make money online into Google the search engine will show you every website even relating to the keyword so it will show up around 200 million. Now if you want to see how many websites have actually placed make money online into the hyperlinks pointing towards their website place this in the google's search query:
inanchor:"make money online" which shows that there is 8 million websites placing that word in the hyperlinks pointing towards their website.

Let me cover what I mean placing the keyword into the hyperlink. This is what I mean:

The keywords you place between the a tag or anchor tag is what you will rank well for in the SERPs.

So after your keywords figured out it is a good idea to place them throughout your content and in your meta title as well as in the headings throughout your website. You do not need to stuff but having around 5%-7% density is fine. The tool I use to find the density of any keyword or term throughout a web page is: http://www.ranks.nl/tools/spider.html

This will help you find the density of any and all of your keywords throughout your web page. This will show what word are repetitious even if you did not plan them to be and should give you enough insight to work on the words you would like to repeat.

Now lets move past the basic setting up and optimization into off site marketing which I feel is the most important aspect of website marketing. The reason I think it is the most important is the amount of crap that Google allows to be on top of their SERPs even without any good content. The only way to reach the top of Google is through mass creation of backlinks with the keywords you want to rank well for.

Personally I really like starting with press releases. These are about the same size as an article 450 words and explains what is new or happening in your business. The key to having success with a press release is being able to acquire media coverage and to do this the release must be exciting. The next step of marketing your website and/or blog is hitting up the social networking sites. I highly recommend starting a new account for each website so you have your target audiences separated. The big three networking sites anyone should be involved in is myspace.com, facebook.com, and twitter.com. Start getting followers by placing a link to your profile on your web presence. One important thing is to not spam your followers and friends, but rather share what is new with your blog or website and make friends.

I also really like social bookmarking and would recommend my own list for this one. With social bookmarking sites usually you can only submit your website once, but with your blogs you can submit each new post.

The "Bad Places" or "Bad Neighborhoods"

One of the discussions around the web marketing forums is what types of websites to stay away from. These are called the “bad places” and “bad neighborhoods” and when performing SEO and e-marketing these places should be avoided. There are a few different types of bad places and there are also different levels of bad where some will not do much damage if you link to them yet others will actually hurt your website and make you drop within the SERPs. Notice how I say link too rather than get links from this is because no matter where the links are coming in they will not hurt. If you link towards a bad place then you will see a drop within the SERPs. Black hat seo is the reason that links towards a website do not hurt it, back when Google cared who linked to you black hat seors would place their competitors links on spammy places. This is no longer the case and Google does not care which links are pointing to you they will never hurt, but some will not help. What is looked at thoroughly is the links which you place on your web presence so if you have a website on blog be sure to look through the links that you place on your site being sure that the site will not only be helpful to your visitors, but also does not have more out links than in links.

Before we get much further discussing who to link to lets talk about what a bad place is. There is two different types of bad places the first being “bad” such as immoral which by the way is looked down upon by Google. If you run a porn site or drug site don’t expect to be getting visitors unless you SEO the site correctly. Google has pulled Porn sites from the rank no longer can you type in a very obscure keyword which has nothing to do with porn and have tons of porn sites come up. Don’t get me wrong if you correctly seo your site and build links from the appropriate sources you will do good. Now the second and much more seo unfriendly type of bad place is spammy places such as the Viagra, make money, and other niches which have a bad rap for being really spammy. I have found after running a make money site it is quite hard not only to get people to link to me, but to move up at all within the serps. I of course understand why others are somewhat scared of linking to me and why I must work so hard to keep my top page serps. So any place that is spammy such as porn, gambling, Viagra, make money, and many more stay away and never link to. Remember Google will judge your website by the links you point out to so if you would like Google to see you in a good light it would be a good idea to keep good links rather than crap.

Now that we have a good understanding of what the bad places are remember that any website which has many more out links than in will probably be looked down on by Google. There are some exceptions, but the majority will be looked down on. If there is no manual review of the link then the link is worthless and you should not link to them for any reason unless you yourself are running a link farm. Remember be careful out there if Google does not like you more than likely they will not change their mind so try your best to follow the best path.

Say No to Traffic Exchange

When new webmasters set out to take their claim on the online business world they use Google searching for ways to get free traffic. Usually their searches will lead them to some undesirable places which are known as “the bad places” of the web. I remember when I first started I was desperate to get even the smallest amount of traffic and if a website said they would get me traffic I would be quick to sign up. Something strange I noticed was the people using the traffic exchange would be very willing to sign up for my affiliate programs making it easy to make a little money. Something else I noticed was they would be quick to quite the programs as well probably giving it up for the next flashy thing to come their way. I guess to understand the quality of traffic you are getting you must understand what a traffic exchange is. A traffic exchange is a directory of sites and when you visit someone else’s website you earn a credit usually worth one visit from another webmaster.

The major problem with traffic exchanges is the traffic you are getting already has their own system or product they are selling and is usually not in the market for more. This means you are getting traffic to your site that has already started their own money making endeavor. So you spend eight hours looking at ad after ad and website after website while others do the same and you all look at each other’s website artificially inflating the stat counter. What is also funny is the majority of traffic exchanges are set on auto pilot so people don’t actually have to look at your website just click next page after 20 seconds. This means that you are getting hits from people that are not even looking at your website. There are also programmers which can create bots to visit your website giving the webmaster credit for visiting your website without them actually doing anything. So your actually taking the time to look at websites when a bot is looking at yours.

Search engines are also not big fans of traffic exchanges. They are not big fans of any website which uses artificial means to inflate traffic. They also do not like the websites because of the amount of spam which fills traffic exchanges so when submitting your website to one of these places do not expect much of a boost from Google and other major search engines and if you decide to link back to the traffic exchanges then you can expect to actually drop within the SERPs. Anyway it is much better to learn SEO and other forms of getting traffic organically rather than using traffic exchanges.

Get On Facebook and Start Making Friends

Facebook has well over 200 million people on it and lets you use your page however you please. This is important for us internet marketers and rather than having the majority kids adults tend to be on facebook frequently why is this important you may ask well for the majority of us anyone under 18 falls out of our target audience since they "usually" can not sign up for programs or they do not have a credit card. So you want to begin networking with people or have an interface for your customer or traffic base for this I would highly recommend Facebook.

Once you have your facebook page go to your profile and use that URL to point others to become your friend. If you look through my side bar on the right side of this blog you will see a link which says "Join Me On Facebook" click it add me as a friend and I will of course do the same. This is one of the easiest ways to get to know your traffic and in the world of affiliate marketing usually your referrals will need help no matter what program you are selling or product you are selling.

I have also found facebook fun as well and a great way to spend time. I can chat with others making actual friends. I also love the games on face book. Right now I play Mafia Wars and Evony every day they are both great ways to break up the monotony of internet marketing letting me break up the long days. Social Media and Search

Being an internet marketer for quite a few years I have heard many people talk about the incorporation of social media into Googles algo. I have thought and thought about the subject, but find that with the majority of social medias using No Follow and usually redirecting the URL this will probably be unlikely. Even Digg.com the place where millions went to get there first backlink and get indexed into Google quickly is no longer webmaster friendly. My guess is that this is because of the importance which Google places on outgoing vs. incoming links. If your outgoing links are above your incoming links then expect to see an adverse affect on your SERPs placement and Page Rank. This incorporated with the amount of junk and spam which social sites are filled with leads me to believe that Google and other major search engines will not be looking to the social medias to find which sites are carrying the most important.

Now I would like to discuss what I have noticed which is a little different and have in common with The Free Traffic System. You can have a hundred thousand backlinks and still be at the bottom of the search engines. This happens because you are not creating and new links. Now they I wouldn't say believe this but have theorized it. I personally put the plan into action leaving a site which was at the top of the search engines for many different keywords for months watching it fall deep into the SERPs. I made sure to keep track of my competition and noticed that not one had more backlinks or better quality backlinks than me the only thing which separated us is they were getting new backlinks.

So when you stop building backlinks you will run into this problem. Now if you decide to let a website fall deep into the SERPs and in my case pretty much off the SERPs it is very easy to get it back. It took me two weeks to get back what a year of work got me. Something interesting is now after only a couple hundred backlinks I am doing better for super competitive keywords than I was doing before I stopped. A Little About Rel="Nofollow"

As I browse through the webmaster forums I notice a common confusion among the webmasters and bloggers and that is the use of the no follow tag. Several questions arise surrounding the myths of this tag and the misconceptions that many have. I have read that people absolutely refuse to place a link on a no follow website or blog and I have heard that others think that it helps their search engine results. First let’s discuss what the no follow actually does and where it derives from. The alt=”nofollow” tag is a way which a website can link to another website without actually helping that website increase in page rank or search engine position. That is what people mean when they say a no follow blog (default) or when the no follow is removed that is what people call a do follow website or blog. Why would the major search engines use such a tag? I mean if a website does not want to give a vote then they would just not link to the website. Well a few years back blogging really took off and led to some serious spam. Since a blogger really doesn’t have the same control as a webmaster or perhaps not the same understanding of linking structure Google (the creator of blogger.com) and wordpress decided to combat this spam by making all comments on blogs no follow meaning when someone commented on a blog and left their link it would not count.

The main reason Google and other search engines use the no follow is your in links are NOT the only thing that matter. You can build or receive hundreds of thousands of in links which are high quality, but you can still not see first page results. The reason for this is Google will look at your outgoing links and judge the quality of your website on that rather than the link coming in. The reason they stopped placing the majority of importance of where links are coming from is webmasters who reached the top by placing their competitor’s websites on crappy areas of the web. So Google and other major search engines decided to start placing more and more importance on where outgoing links were pointed. Now if you are sending links/votes towards crappy spammy places on the web then you should expect to see a severe drop within the SERPs. If you for some reason would like to talk about or link to without giving a vote then placing the alt=”nofollow” would be the way to go. If you want to show your traffic who your competitors are without giving them a boost in the SERPs then placing the nofollow in the hyper link would be a good way to go. Remember that if you have a ton of outgoing links you should expect to do poorly if they are not no follow. Also it is good to send out good links to authoritative places on the web give your votes to the websites which deserve them and you would like Google to associate you with.

Diffrence Between Social Networking and Social Bookmarking

The social media websites both networking and bookmarking have found a place in the world of internet marketing. I have heard theories from top experts in SEO and general internet marketing that Google and other major search engines are headed in the direction of using these as resources to figure out what is popular on the web and give the sites a bump up in the SERPs (search engine results pages). Of course these are only theories and Google right now is still using mainly older ways of figuring out who should be on top of SERPs mainly through determining authority through links coming into a website. Now even though social media websites both networking and bookmarking offer backlinks (most nofollow) they also offer referral traffic and enough referral traffic to provide a reasonable income.

Before beginning a social marketing campaign you must have an understanding of the different social websites. First and usually the most helpful to a webmaster or blogger is social bookmarking. These websites include digg.com, stumbleupon.com, and others. A brief description of a social bookmarking website is a community of people usually in the millions which votes on the websites which are submitted. If a website submitted to the community is well liked then the votes for the website if the quantity is enough will reach the front page of the social bookmarking site which will lead to a tremendous amount of traffic and for a while the website will receive a nice backlink from a very authoritative source. Social bookmarking is good for anything new, personally I use it for all of my new blog posts and if I create a new page on squidoo, hub pages, or a knol I will submit it to a few social bookmarking websites.

The second type of social media website I would like to discuss is social networking and probably websites which you are a little more familiar with. These websites include myspace.com, facebook.com, and twitter.com. Where many internet marketers go wrong is misusing these websites and rather than network with others they spam the hell out of them. This is not the correct way to market on social networking. The reason social networking is a great resource for internet marketers, webmasters, and bloggers is they allow us to really connect with people which can be potentially rewarding. I have found it very useful setting up guest posts, link exchanges, and other marketing endeavors using social networking. The number one rule of social networking is to connect with others not to promote your website. Now myspace, facebook, and twitter, all have different places to place your URL to your home page and this of course is fine, but if the only thing you tell people which follow you is to visit your blogs and website more than likely they will not follow you for long.

The third and last type of social media is blogging and cover pages. These websites include blogger.com, wordpress.com, typepad.com, squidoo.com, hubpages.com, Googles knol, and many others. This type of social media can truly make you quite wealthy just ask Darren over at Pro Blogger. These websites made starting, running, and making money off a web presence very simple and provided it all for free. I tell everyone even when they already have a website to start a blog in there niche. I just read on technorati that there are over 100 million blogs so if you do not have one it is time to start.

Internet marketing has truly become an art form which millions upon millions compete to become the most unique and individualistic trying to drive just a few more hits to their web presence. The major discussion behind internet marketing has to do with which is more important in a marketing campaign backlinks or content. I can truly say that content is the most important aspect of internet marketing and not only through articles directories, but also link bait. The goal of an internet marketer should always include being published by all the major article directories on the web such as ezinearticles.com, buzzle.com, articlesbase.com, ehow.com, and isnare.com. All of these have a page rank of 5 or better and ezinearticles.com is one of the top 500 most visited websites in the world. Now when it comes to your own web presence having a constant stream of fresh unique content is also very important and should be done on a daily basis.

First let’s discuss the concept of using content as a way to market your web presence whether it is a blog or website on third party websites such as article directories. Usually when you write an article and submit it there will be some type of compensation. Some websites such as associatedcontent.com is a website that pays you a certain sum for the content which you create. Other websites such as the ones which I listed in the previous paragraph pay in backlinks and getting paid in backlinks is usually the most common form of payment among article directories and in most cases the most prosperous form since the traffic driven will usually lead to a higher financial income then a website such as associated content. Also when you write articles for these websites if they prove the expertise which you have then you will slowly become an expert in your field. This is one of the easiest ways which to gain backlinks, money, fame, what we all attempt to acquire while running an online business.

The second way which content can be quite helpful is when you become good at creating link bait. Link bait is a form of content whether text, audio, video, or pic which through its incredible uniqueness, boldness, information shared, or ability to help that building links is not required the info gains links on its own. There are several ways which to do this and in the online business world usually creating link bait comes with becoming an expert. I have created link bait quite a few times and have found one of the easiest ways in which to do so is through large lists. These lists can be whatever you like in your niche. Personally I run a couple internet marketing blogs and list the best places which to gain backlinks. If for example you are running a business website or blog then I recommend creating a list of the best business websites or a list of the best marketing websites either one would work. You could also create a list of the top 100 things you should do when running a business online.

Google Is Not Mean but Fair

While looking through the webmaster forums I see constantly titles that ask why Google has de-indexed a website or why Google has dropped a website deep into the SERP’s (search engine results pages). Usually when reading the post I notice that the webmaster or blogger takes what Google does to their website or blog very personally. Remember when this happens do not take it personally Google deals with millions upon millions of websites and a few months ago in their blog explained the true growth and size of the internet. They say the internet has reached over 1 billion unique URL’s. That is a massive number so next time something happens in Google remember that you are only one among a billion.

Now after thinking about the size of Google it is important to understand that you can reach the top of Google and not be de-indexed if you follow certain simple theories which will keep you on the up and up of Google. The first I would like to discuss is not doing anything shady and what this means is if you are trying to “trick” the Google Bot then usually you will be struck down and either taken out of Google entirely or dropped way way down into the SERPs. So do not do anything which seems like it is sneaky or anything that is spoke of as black hat SEO or expect to do poorly.

The next thing a webmaster or blogger should do is begin learning about SEO. This is the fundamental and basic process of building a website around being indexed appropriately into Google. Let say you build a website which sales hats and would like to rank for the term “buy hats”. Well on your homepage it is necessary to have the word hats and good practice placing the term hats and buy hats into a heading on your home page. This way as Google goes over your website they will see in big letters buy hats and know that your website has to do with selling hats. Now something which would be considered black hat SEO is if you put the term buy hats 100 times throughout your website this would be seen by the Google bot as you do not care if people can read your web page and you are trying to trick the Google bot into placing your web page above other web pages within your niche not by being a better web page or website, but by having a word repeat a ridiculous amount.

One other aspect a new website owner should think about is acquiring links which is the driving force behind the web. Gain links that are in your niche (category of website such as business or marketing) and gain links from websites that are authoritative which you can find if you download the Page Rank bar onto your Google toolbar so you can see the page rank. SEO ~ Determine The Importance Of A Page

Perhaps reading the title you may be thinking I am going to discuss the Page Rank issue which still holds some importance, but very little. This is actually not what the article is going to discuss, but rather which pages you feel are the most important for your visitor to see and some of the actions which you should be taking to make sure that these pages are what your visitors land on. Usually the home page is one of the most important pages which you should be worried about and from there your first sub pages (the pages one click away from your home page should be your next consideration.) The home page as most of you know is the overall description of your website and offers navigation to the rest of your website.

Let's discuss your home page first since the majority of your internal hyperlinks as well as external hyperlinks will be pointing to it. Usually the first page you work on it will need to be the best looking, most informational, and easiest to navigate around. If you have a low bounce rate usually this means the visitor clicking onto your home page has found exactly what they are looking for. If you have a bounce rate of over 50% and your visitors are not leaving to your affiliate sites or other web pages/blogs then you should think about re working your home page so it is clear and easy to understand why you have the presence on the web. Now after your home page is set up and holding a bounce rate which you feel is right the next important thing to do is set up the sub pages for correct internal linking and optimized to become an entrance page.

Before we get to much further it is important to understand that no one knows exactly how Google determines their serps pages, but millions of us have our own theory and mine is still the older theory which is Google places a website in the SERPs ranked on basic SEO (word density, title, anchor text, ect.) and backlinks from external websites. So I am placing a high importance not only on links coming in from external sources, but also the internal linking of the web page which you have in place.

So the sub pages have been created there are a couple things I would like you to think about. The first is the title in the head tag. This should show exactly what your sub page is offering rather than just leaving it blank. Placing a title tag in with the title of your sub page making sure it is diffrent from your home page is key to gaining an increase of visitors from search engines since they will list that sub page in the SERPs (search engine results pages) with the title which you give it. For example I have a website and the title to the home page is Make Money Free. Now my main sub pages right off the root all have titles catered to what they offer. For example I have a sub page named Make Money With Surveys and another Make Money Reading Email. It all depends on what the sub page does.

The sub pages are now all named correctly (right?). The next thing I would like you to consider doing is a little more advanced in terms of SEO and it is thinking about the internal link structure of your website. You will want all your sub pages to link back to your home page and rather than placing home in the link or main I highly recommend placing the title of your site or keywords you would like your main page to rank well for. This will give you free links back to your home page. Also make sure to place your meta keywords (still important for yahoo and other search engines less advanced than google), meta description, and it is a good idea to have an h1 at the top of your sub page with the title/keywords you would like the page to be ranked well for.

Don't Give Up Ever

Well on my well earned break;) I thought about how easy it is to slip away from your blog then when you come back after a couple of weeks you notice your readers are gone and your search position is suffering. This really sucks, but I feel is one of the biggest reasons most people give up. When their blog or website does not go the way they planned it seems to me that this is when you find if you are a true blogger or not.

Now the key to finding out whether you are a true blogger is ask yourself why did I start this blog? What is the actual reason not the BS you give your friends, but the truth to why you spend each night writing a post and commenting on other posts. If the reason is not because you love the subject material at hand and lover expressing yourself then more than likely you will not make it very long. If you start a blog for money in this day and age don't expect to get far or if you start a blog to become as famous as Mr. Chow or well known as Pro Blogger then don't expect to make it very far.

This is something I may have hounded a little on in the past, but passion is one of the greatest attributes of a blogger and when their chips are down guess what they don't close the lap top and go find a real job they keep plugging away. Guess what you are not going to get to the top of the SERPs for a big keyword (one with over 50,000 monthly views) unless you have it set in stone and truly believe that if you stay at the bottom you will keep blogging. I have been at the top for some pretty competitive terms with this blog and my website. I did not expect to be there, which I think was one of the main reasons I reached such high standings. This aspect of blogging is the unwritten law no one gets anywhere quickly and those who don't think of where they are at usually will end up much farther ahead than those who are constantly checking and worrying about the SERPs.

Understanding Link Bait

One of the most powerful marketing/blogging aspects is acquiring link bait. First let us discuss the basic definition of link bait. Link bait is a media whether text video or other that is of a caliber that other web presences automatically link to it without any type of interaction between the webmasters. It is truly the driving force of the internet and separates websites and blogs that make it from those that do not. Now if your in the market for an internet marketing professional something that I strive when marketing for clients and I hope any internet marketer strives for is making sure that the client understands that paying for linkbuilding or backlinks in general is only a quick fix and will not keep the presence up in the SERPs. I have found it much better to spend time on first making sure the website I am working on is well optimized and second the webmaster is constantly striving to create link bait.

There are a few ways in which you can make something link bait. My favorite way to create link bait is to create a list which is not easily replicable. This means that the list must be a size that would take other webmaster quite a while to replicate I would say make your list of whatever it is at least 25 or longer. One good example of link bait that I have created link list format would be my Top 55 Social Bookmarking Websites this took be about 15 hours or so to create and whenever I write a really good blog post I use this list to market it.

Making a list is not the only way in which link bait is created. If you become a phenom such as Darren over at Pro Blogger or John over at John Chow.com then every post you write becomes link bait though this happens only to the very few great bloggers. Now I have made a little money online and the money I have made comes from the links which I have created on my own. This blog makes very little and the only reason I continue to post here is I absolutley love Internet Marketing. So the second way to create link bait is to become a well respected blogger read by thousands. By the way before I forget I am published on ehow.com and the article was on linkbait. The third way to create link bait is to write an article, post, or create a video so unique and informative that others link to it. Rather than spending so much time buliding links to your website search your niche and find something that is missing whether an idea or perhaps a presence such as a forum or other type of site and build it. I have noticed a lack of niche video sites perhaps this is an unproductive endeavor or perhaps you could make millions only time will tell. Anyways make an effort to find what is missing throughout your niche and fill the gap. You may want to call this niche marketing, but rather than finding a niche an only creating a website try to figure out what that niche is really missing and rather than doing a bland old website put forth the effort to find what that niche is really missing.

The last thing I would like to discuss with you is it is ok to let others know you have just finished creating a new presence post or whatever you just built. This is why it is good to build relationships with bloggers in your niche so they can blog about whatever you built. There are those on twitter who have thousands of followers these are excellent people to get on your side. Most social bookmarking sites have a community aspect that allow you to communicate with others. What this does is give you as a webmaster/blogmaster/forumaster the ability to make friends on a platform that thrives on voting you have a new post on digg + a bunch of friends on digg you will have a steady stream of votes pushing you above the rest. Now it is not easy and this can not be done quickly, but if you put in the time to realy build virtual relationships it will pay off.

Marketing on Internet Forums

The title is a bit misleading, but if you understand the proper etiquette of forums they can lead to thousands of targeted visitors, leads, and sales. One of the most important thing about marketing with a forum whether in your niche or not is to make sure that you do not spam. If you sign up to a forum and the first post you make is a huge copy and pasted ad then 9 times out of 10 you will be thrown out of the forum banned and pretty much forgotten about. Now if you enter the forum with your first month or so attempting to make friends and learn/teach about the subject of the forum then you should do alright. When on the forum the number one rule is to be friendly, courteous, and helpful.

Now your first month on the forum should be kind of like the first month in a new school. Take your time finding all the clicks and doing your best to not screw up. In this school the preppy good kids who make friends with the teachers (forum admin) will be the ones who will have the most leeway when advertising. If a moderator or well respected member of the community leaves a link to their site usually the forum admin will let it slide as long as the link pertains to the subject material. This is key to getting direct traffic from a forum and is a very good reason to be in forums that have pertain to your web presence. Personally I own a website marketing blog and because of this I spend countless hours within v7n and DP looking through all the new posts answering and asking questions and trying my best to give the best content possible.

Now this will help get visitors, but it is not the only way. Most forums allow you to add a signature where you will be allowed to leave links to your web presences and this can help both get visitors through clicks as well as help your placement in the Search Engine Results Pages or SERPs. Links are definitely the only factor to consider when trying to rank well in Google or others, but should be taken into considerations since they are the deciding placing factor of websites that represent the same content. Now you need to learn BB code and to do this all you need to type into Google is either learn BB code or BB code tag list both of these will bring up websites very useful in giving you the tools necessary to learn how to take full advantage of your forum usage.

One thing I want to make clear is never use a forum to spam this is all too common and the reason there are so many moderators on forums is to ban people who spam. Keep the conversation active on the same topic and try to spend time each and every day in your niches forum learning about all the new things happening. Anyway I hope you found this article active.

Hey guys sorry about being away for so long. I moved into my apartment and had to wait a week for my internet to be set up then once the internet was set up it still did not work. They said I would have to wait another week until they would be able to get out to my new apartment so I decided to rip apart and rewire my phone jack which worked. Anyway I will be back to posting much more regularly.

There is a new site well not really new, but I think that it has some real potential. This website lets you set up your own social network with forums chat whatever you want and it is all for free. The website is Ning I highly recommend you think about setting up an account I am slowly working on my social network for internet marketers. Really though you can set it up for anything the sky is the limit I hope you like it.

Started A New Hub Page

This is not just a regular little page which I created hoping to get a hit or two through hub pages itself, but rather a marketing experiment which I plan to go after the keywords "get paid online" which by the way only have 285 websites in competition yet get over 3,000 searches monthly. I think it will take about 500 backlinks to get it into the top hundred and 2,500 to reach page 1 not to bad around 2 months of work until I am again banking. Anyway I just put it up here is the link get paid online as you can see I am going after those keywords and I plan on throwing everything I got at it the same as I did for my site make money online. You know directories, social bookmarking, blog commenting, blogging, and the rest. I feel it is SEO'd quite well for the term get paid online and think it will do quite well.

Now for those who are reading I will try my best to keep you updated weekly on the progress I am making with it right now I am just trying to get it indexed into Google which should take around 1 day. Remember for a quick index place a link on any web presence you already have set up then submit the link to digg.com and you should be updated within Google's index after a few hours. Google Loves Updated Content

I have said before that the driving factor behind the internet and SEO is backlinks. This is true to a degree, but as you see that squidoo and other extremely static pages no longer have a grip on the SERPs and more content driven sources are rising perhaps content is gaining importance on the placement within the SERPs. I spend a lot of time going over the videos on You Tube going over videos that discuss Google mainly the ones done by Google engineer Matt Cutts. (Here is a link to Matt Cutts Blog) Where he discusses many different aspects of SEO and Google in general.

After going over and over everything out there on Google one constant remains the same Google's main goal is to bring the best service possible to their users and to do so they need to bring their users the freshest, most authoritative, and all around best content possible. Now backlinks are a way for Google to see how the rest of the web reacts to a website. If the website is getting a bunch of backlinks from crap places such as link farms and other spammy places on the web then the website is probably not worth much the same goes for if the website is not getting any backlinks at all. Now if a website is gaining tons of great quality backlinks from very authoritative sources then Google should and does list it high within its serps.

The problem with this is people such as myself which knows where and how to gain high quality backlinks without actually having content worth the rank it is getting. In the past I could spend a couple months on a squidoo page and have it dominate the niche I created it for. I could push the page up past forums with hundreds of thousands of content filled pages. I could push it past the wikis and .edus through the pure power of link dominance. Is it fair that I could easily beat out these authoritative pages purely through SEO knowledge? Of course not and now Google has begun a change. No longer can a page be pushed through the serps through pure linking it must have a couple other things done to be able to dominate a niche.

The update of a website shows Google that you are not running a super static website where the content is old and out of date. Put plenty of fresh content on your website or blog. If you need content or are a content writer looking for backlinks I highly recommend The Free Traffic System (which is how I easily dominate niches within months). Using this will keep a daily stream of content to your blogs and since all the content is moderated it is guaranteed not to be crap. You can also of course use sources such as Articles Base for your content needs.

This next aspect of marketing is one kinda new to me as well as the rest of the marketing world. I heard about it on the free traffic systems blog which you have access to once you sign up for a free membership. Anyway they discuss the importance of fresh backlinks or updated backlinks. This could be a load of crap, but I think there is something to it. I have noticed when I do a little link building my stats increase dramatically. I would like you guys to give this a try if possible and let me know what you think. To do this you need a web presence which can be a page on Googles knol or a hub page and then do some marketing gaining a decent rank then stop for a month or so. Build a couple hundred fresh backlinks and see if your page rises dramatically or stays where its at. Set Goals

LOL this is what my Dad is always preaching asking me what exactly are my goals and if I am writing them down. Personally I live in the moment, but have the what if dreams and they drive all of my online presences. To me when it comes to internet marketing and goals SERPs (search engine result pages) come to mind. Where does my website or blog fall in Google's index for certain terms. For example when I first started I wanted to be ranked number one for the keyterm "make money free" I checked the position for my website earn money online free and saw that for make money free at Google I was ranked #5 no not page five for the term make money free I am ranked number 5 on the first page. That took 3 months to get with me working on my marketing campaign at least 40 hours a week. In the past 6 months I have seen the first page for make money online though as soon as I hit the first page it seemed everyone stepped up their marketing campaign and dropped me way back down. So right now I want to dominate my niche for make money online, make money, earn money, and earn money online. These are my long term goals and what every day I strive to get.

It is also very helpful to set daily or weekly marketing goals. Just recently I set the goal of writing 10 articles in a day really just wanting to see the effect on the keyword earn money online free. I was ranked 11, but after a mid sized marketing campaign pushed my site up to #7 I am thinking about doing a little more and get into the top 3. So if you are not happy with the position your website is for a certain keyword take a day or two and build at least 400 backlinks all with the keywords you would like to rank well for. Then you should keep track of the position your site sits in the index for the keyterm.

White boards are a must! I have to say especially when it comes to running multiple marketing campaigns all with diffrent web presences white boards and listing goals on them is a must. I went to wal-mart spent twenty dollars and bought 2 big white boards that I use daily and helps me keep track of everything. It is also great for brain storming just jotting down an idea erasing it and jotting down another idea.

Persistance and realism. You should be setting realistic goals do not go after the key term "money" which is pushing a billion websites that actually have put the word money when link building. Pick something that you actually feel you can get and go after it. If you want to reach the top of Google give yourself 6 months to a year depending on the competitivness of the keywords and don't give up on it. This will be difficult, but will seperate you from all those who wanted to work from home, but when the time came they gave up. If you work every day you will see results.

Now to really understand the fundamentals of blog promotion we must understand the attraction which people have with the blogosphere. I find the biggest ting which drives someone to a blog is when that person is looking for info or perhaps a different aspect on a subject. They can do a blog search or regular search and if you have properly optimized your blog they find you and begin reading your blog. There will be a couple things this person is looking for first of which they will check and see how old the post is making sure the info they are reading is not severely outdated and the blog itself is not dead. This is why when you run a blog keeping it updated very regularly is extremely important. The number one thing that blogging has compared to other informational platforms or presences is the ability to spread info within hours sending a story, thought, or idea screaming across the web with speed unmatched by traditional media. When you read something on a blog more than likely it is from that day compared to a newspaper where the idea can be days if not week old. Another advantage blogging has over other informational gateways is the reader gets to pick where they gain the information. This means that you must separate yourself from others writing about the same concepts and ideas whether it be through your means of obtaining info or your writing style there has to be something that separates your writing from those around you. This is actually a promotional concept within the blogosphere and differs from conventional website marketing.

So when promoting a blog let’s focus on the differences from traditional marketing. First use social media’s constantly trying to get your blog as the focus of buzz in these communities. Second make sure that your info is different in some way from those around you and is consistently updated with fresh, unique, and helpful content.

Do Your Marketing Research

This could possibly be one of the most important aspect of internet marketing and definitley will show you the amount of work that you will need to comit to before taking the top of Google. You know right now I have the goal of getting 100+ Google hits daily the goal before this one was 50. How do I get 50 Google hits daily and around 20-50 from other sources? Well first I picked out a set of keywords for my site make money online.

When doing the research for this site I wanted a key term which was somewhat easy to reach the top of Google for. The keywords I started and built my site around was make money free. If you go to Google and type in make money free you will see my site makemoneyfree.comuv.com I think last time I checked it was 6 I have hit 2, but my want to increase traffic by going after make money online and Grizzly's top spot has let competitors catch my link building for make money free. Now I did not pick make money free because it was a ton of traffic I did my research using this tool:
Google Keyword Tool.

Now put the keywords make money free and then switch the match type from broad to exact and you will see the exact (or very close) amount of people who searched for make money free last month. This will tell you if the keywords you want to be ranked well for are worth going after. If you get a number back like 100 then I highly recommend switching the targetted keywords to something with at least a couple thousand and even if you get the first spot you should only expect to be getting 60% of that. If you are two or three then 20-30% is pretty accurate if you are not in the top three then expect to be fighting over 10% of the traffic. Should you be fighting over 10% of 100 searches? Hell No if you cant be number one which would be about 60 hits monthly then forget about it.

So you found some keywords which you feel are worth going after it is time to begin looking at the competition. Now the most important driving force behind the web is backlinks and should be a consideration when trying to find how much work is needed to be done before reaching the top spot. Personally I really like Yahoo's Site Explorer just type the URL in and it will show you how many links the website has and a list of the top 1000 backlinks your competitor has gained. Now when the number comes back don't get to frustrated this is not the exact number since Yahoo usually counts each and every backlink. You need to really look through the backlinks and see how many are coming from the same source these really only count for a small amount. Example if a site has 100k backlinks, but 50k are from the same place then you have just cut the number in half. So don't stress if the number is huge. Personally I want make money online and my top competitor has 25k backlinks and my site make money online has between 6 and 10 thousand depending on the day I check. The diffrence between these sites is mine has been around since march and my competitor has been around since 2001 so you see the diffrence time makes in your marketing campaign.

Anyway run your competitors through Yahoo's backlink checker or site explorer and see how much work you will need to put in. Then get to work if you need resources to build backlink check the side of this blog and I list thousands of places to get backlinks. The title is "My Best Posts" you will see all the places to get free white hat backlinks free also in the top right of this blog is a free auto article submitter not exactly white hat, but will get you 60 backlinks per article. SEO and Keyword Association

It is time for another post and for this one I would like to cover how keyword association in my eyes is taking over SEO mainly on-site keyword density though it is also seen when building links externally. First off I want to define SEO (Search Engine Optimization) now I kinda throw it in with SEM (Search Engine Marketing) as anything done to increase position in Google's and other major search engine SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Now we have a basic idea of what SEO is lets get into how keyword association fits in with the subject.

When it comes to SEO there are a certain key aspects to keep in mind. First is always and I mean always place readability and usability over SEO. If for example you have to option to place a keyword, but it would sacrifice how well your site/content reads then do not place the keyword. The reason for doing this is when you build a website for a visitor rather than search engines your site becomes much more linkable and it is much easier to become the authority within your niche (category of website such as business or fishing). So as you read this post and others I have written on SEO remember who comes first.

Now keyword association is the process of search engines mainly Google being able to rank a website high for a keyword through the search bots ability to tell what a site is about through words other than the keyword. For example if you have a blog about "website marketing" such as this one and I go into discussion on "SEO" or "Internet Marketing" the search bot will put those all together and rank me well for website marketing. Another example is if you are running a fishing website and have content on the topic of boating or sportsman wear Google will still rank you well for fishing as long as you stay with content and keywords that are closely associated.

The great thing about keyword association is it allows you to not give up readability since you now have a much wider array of words that you can replace the keyword you want to rank well for. Let us do a little association let's say you have a website about "online business" and those are the keywords which you would like to rank well for. If you would like to have content to reflect that then it would be good to place "online business" once or twice, but after that begin to use associated keywords. Here is a list of keywords that are associated with "online business":"make money" "make money online" "online money" "finance" "online finance" "home business" "business" "work at home" "work from home" "earn money" "earn money online" and the list goes on and on. Put in your mind the subject then think of as many words as you can to describe it.

Well this ends the topic of on-site SEO "keyword association" lets discuss off-site association. When creating or trying to acquire links on websites other than your own there are a couple of rules to follow. I usually place a point system when trying to describe backlinks here it is:

10 pts: The backlink is relevant to your niche, authoritative (such as high PR or very well known), and the backlink is a one way link.

7 pts: The backlink is a one way link that has high authority, but is not relevant.

5 pts: The backlink is one way and relevant, but with little authority, trust, or PR.

3 Pts: The backlink is a reciprocal link that is relevant, but with little authority.

1 Pt: The backlink is a reciprocal that is not relevant and does not have authority.

Now on the topic of keyword association the type of backlink which falls into the category is relevance. So if you run a website which sells fishing line and you want to find relevant backlinks will you only be able to trade links with sites about fishing line? No.

If you use keyword association then you can branch out within your niche and begin to develop links about all topics covering fishing or outdoors. If you gain a backlink from a hunting website Google closely relates these two so you will still have acquired a relevant backlink. If the backlink is one way and authoritative then you have a backlink worth 10 points. This gives you the chance to have a much wider area where the acquiring of backlinks becomes much easier since now rather than only fishing you can pretty much gain a backlink from any website that is associated and count it as relevant. Personally I have found that Google relates e-marketing and e-business very well so when I cross promote my web presences which relate to those two areas they seem to do very well in the SERPs.

Free Off-Line Promotion

Well some of these may require you to purchase items, but I just wanted to go over some of the different free ways you can market your website. Now like the other posts on this blog the different aspects of marketing should be used in conjunction with many different marketing techniques. Lets move into some of the different ways:

1. Print out business cards. Like I said to do this you may need to purchase some different items, but whenever you leave your house and perhaps a discussion begins about what you do; you can hand the potential client a business card explaining your services and have the websites URL on the back or wherever you feel it looks best.

2. Print out 1000 flyer's or so. This will take quite a bit of leg work and I would like to stress the same ethics that I teach online you use offline meaning do not spam or place your advert where it should not go. Find stores, gas stations, any place where you can talk to the owner and/or manager and ask them if you can place a flyer for your business. Perhaps you can work something out in other words they let you physically place an ad and you them them virtually place an ad on your website.

If you become a millionaire then you can pay them back, but on the road to the top you need as much help as possible so get the help of friends and family. Now this can be asking them to place a link at the bottom of their out going email or just explaining what exactly your website is the services it has and ask them if the topic comes up in conversation they discuss with whoever your website.

Anyway just a few tips that are very cost efficient and should be done by anyone trying to gain business to their website. I highly recommend using them since I do on a day to day business. Backlinks Are Key NOT Content

Hey guys I am back for another post and after reading a little on The Free Traffic Systems blog and what they had to say about backlinks VS. SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) they make a great point. If you want Google page 1 for any keyword then having unique, quality, quantity, when it comes to backlinks will get you the top spot. For my backlinks I use two different ways link bait and the free traffic system which you can find in the side bar. Anyway there was another reason which I have thought that Google places much more importance on the amount of backlinks rather than the amount of content or freshness of content and that is Grizzly's blog which you can find by typing in make money online into Google and check that number #1 spot. Seriously he updates the blog "how to make money online for beginners" once a month if that yet still holds the tip top of my (and millions of others) wanted keywords yet has very little to no unique content and updates very rarely. So how does he hold the top spot and make thousands monthly?

This is what I have spent months searching and searching to find that he has interlocked with an elite club of bloggers where he is either in their blog roll or at the bottom of their page under link partners. Him and Court have aligned as well as others and every new presence they have becomes interlocked with others. The magnitude of this inner clicks link structure is flat out amazing. This my friends is how the top stays on top and defeats us who are not intertwined with hundreds of other top bloggers/blogs. Now as I go from blog to blog I notice that quite a bit of the backlinks are either from other blogs or from their own blog. This tells me if you want to have a top spot internal link structure is crucial make sure to have a ton of links (2-5) with your keywords pointing to your home/index. Then begin building links using the resources I have listed under "my top posts". Remember if you need content hit article sites such as Articles Base for content then make sure you place links towards your site at the bottom I have done this to increase not only internal link structure, but also my sites girth.

So as of right now we have everything to date pointing towards what Google is really looking at what do we do about it. We build link structures that blow any and everything out of the water. Something that I want everyone to do right now is start a new blogger.com blog that is close to your website/blog niche. If you need content go to the site I listed above (making sure you keep the links of the writer you don't want to get nailed for plagiarism) once you have it up and running and are ready to add content either self written or from articles base bring up note pad. In note pad I want you to get 4-5 copy and paste codes ready which I will show you how to write the code now:

then either write or post an article and paste your link with the anchored keywords at the bottom or top of each article. Now if you would like to know how many times to do this check the site for the keywords you want in Yahoo's site explorer and make as many posts necessary to reach your top competitors backlink count. Then build 100 links towards the blog which you are making all these posts on making sure digg.com is one of the links so it will be indexed. This will be one way to not only match your competitor, but also surpass him in backlinks. Anyway it is worth a shot isn't it?

Some Basics On Backlinks

This article will help those starting out and trying to figure out what backlinks are and the importance of them. The article will not help those who already have a fundamental understanding of backlinks though it is always good to brush up. First and foremost I am a believer in the theory that content is king and should not be replaced by linking. When you are building links remember that if your content is great than once people visit your website through the links you place on the web they will be much more likely to offer you links freely usually without even your consultation which is called link baiting though it is a little out of this articles concepts.

If you are online to earn money online or are just trying to learn promotion for your personal website or blog then a backlink should be something constantly on your mind. A backlink is a hyperlink pointing to a URL and is not located on the domain it is pointed towards. For example if you have a blog on blogger.com and place your URL (Uniform Resource Locator which you can find in the address bar when you access your blog on your explorer) on a site such as digg.com the hyperlink on digg.com which you placed is called a backlink and is the deciding factor of which site ranks where on major search engines after content has been considered and sometimes even without the consideration of content if the backlinks are strong enough.

The driving force behind internet marketing is the backlink though placing a backlink can sometimes be somewhat tricky. When Google scours the web in an attempt to search out each and every URL the more times they come across your link the more likely you will come up within the SERPs (search engine results pages). Now it is good to have a lot of backlinks, but you should be conscious of which sites are giving you a vote (1 backlink = 1 vote from an external web presence to yours). This makes a big difference on how much each and every vote will count when Google decides how high to place you in their index. The two things which Google takes into account when deciding on the importance of a backlink or vote is the authority/trust and relevancy which the backlink holds. Now digg.com is an excellent place to grab a backlink and Google does have trust for digg, but the backlink does not have relevancy unless your marketing another social bookmarking site so the backlink is missing half of the supreme backlink equation.

These are extremely difficult backlinks to acquire and any good internet marketing expert should always be on the lookout for possible high quality highly relevant backlinks. When I say relevant I do not mean the category of your website, but the niche of your website which is a bit broader. For example if your website is about fishing poles that is the category, but the niche is the “fishing” niche and you can gain relevant backlinks for websites in such categories as fishing theory, fishing tips, fishing line, types of fish, really any and every website about fishing you should be seeking a cross promotional relationships with these sites. There are plenty of ways besides gaining relevant high priority links which you will see advertised and the majority of these will get you in trouble. Stay away from any easy links since the majority will be link farms (websites which creation was for the sole purpose of boosting link popularity) and stick with either websites like yours or websites which have a high Page Rank. You can see a websites Page Rank by downloading Google’s toolbar and installing it with the Page Rank feature. Anyway I hope this article has enlightened those that may have been confused by the subject of backlinks and perhaps even helped an experienced marketer or two.

Link Bait Basics

On this blog there is quite a bit of discussion on how to gain links through different mediums such as social bookmarking, directories, and article directories. Now these are great to get noticed, but if you really want to set your site or blog on auto pilot then link bait should be in your marketing arsenal as well. As I spend hours reading what others say on link bait I have found a common misconception of people believing that unique helpful content is "link bait". Well in a way this is true, but for the most part writing unique helpful content will more than likely get your post or article rewritten. So what do we do when trying to gain links rather than get rewritten or have our content stolen?

For a blogger it comes with either a post which takes so much time to rewrite that others do not want to take the time or the respect from the blogosphere which can take years to gain. I guess we are jumping the gun a little bit lets discuss what link bait is before we discuss the creation of it.

Link Bait: Content in the form of image, video, or/and text which has such a uniqueness, helpfullness, relevance, and authority that the web sends backlinks either to reference or explain a topic. If that does not make sense please leave a comment asking me to explain further and I will do my best.

Like I said there are two forms of link bait and I will first discuss the type which you can create without being an authority in your niche. So what does it take to create link bait. How much time and effort must you put in when trying to create something worth linking to. I have had posts which have gained links by themselves one of my most linked to is http://marketing-a-website.blogspot.com/2009/05/top-55-social-bookmarking-websites.html. This post has the most useful social bookmarking sites 55 to be exact that help webmasters. The post took around 1 full day 16 hours or so of me going from social bookmarking site to social bookmarking site finding the ones that had a simple submission process and were useful to anyone who owned a website or blog. Then the next day I spent 12 hours or so putting the post together trying to rank my favs first and the soso sites last. So when all said and done it took 28 hours of pure work before I was able to create a post which was linkable and not easily creatable. Now I have had other posts which have been linked to in fact all of the posts in the "my best posts" have gotten links, but not to the extent which the 55 list has had.

Really if I were to put a number onto it I would say 12 hours is the mandatory amount of time which you will need to create link bait. Now if you spend more time doing research and making a larger post or article the linkability will increase and you will find the more hours you put in will get you more links pointing towards your creation.

Now lets move onto becoming an authority something I really wish to be in the upcoming months. I have been steadily climbing the ranks and when I have done searches on my name and the name of this blog it has been talked about (usually good). So how do you become an authority within your niche? There are many ways to get noticed and I find the best is to constantly be creating new unique content for your blog and site as well as building a constant flow of links. Personally I use the free traffic system frequently to build links though I find the blogs which my articles go on usually are not to authoritative, but are still relevant backlinks. Another thing which you can do to increase your authority on a subject is to write articles for prestigious sites either the top blogs in your niche or the highest regarded article directories. The article directories like www.goarticles.com or www.articlesbase.com will get you backlinks, but they will not get you noticed within any given community. If you would like to really get noticed then you must get on the big sites such as www.ezinearticles.com, www.buzzle.com, and www.ehow.com none of these allow even moderately spammy article and expect your best work. So if you want to get noticed then begin writing to these sites and remember these three don't allow mass submissions and expect to have the unique piece so they are not good for any type of mass article submission write the article submit it to one of these three then delete it so you don't break any of the rules. You will also notice sites such as buzzle only allow one link and you may be saying "then whats the point" well this actually works out to your advantage since Google will see the article/site as being mostly content rather than a lil content and a ton of outgoing links. Anyway once you begin getting noticed and you have a constant stream of updated unique helpful content on your presence people will take notice and you will see your readership rise which will lead to you slowly becoming an authority on any given subject.

Once your an authority then anything you write will get backlinks and you will gain a following of people who when you ask will do pretty much anything for you. Don't use this poorly such as charging your readers for info or trying to force feed them products from companies which contact you. Build Links Towards Your Backlinks

Now this is going a little past the basic link building technique and should be done carefully because if you spend to much time building links for other backlinks you could potentially waste quite a bit of time, but I think it is still a valuable marketing aspect to discuss and should be taken into consideration when you begin a marketing campaign. Now the hardest part of building links towards your backlinks is choosing which ones would benefit the most from having the backlinks.

I will try to make this clear as possible, you should build backlinks towards any of your backlinks which you have total control over. So if you have a link on a blog which is not yours and have no control over the blog, post, page, website, whatever it is then it is pointless to build backlinks towards the page since at any time your link can be removed "especially if the webmaster values the rise of PR". Now let say you have a page over on www.squidoo.com or www.hubpages.com which you do have complete control of these are the pages which you will want to build backlinks for. You can place 20 or so backlinks on a page from either of these two sources then build the authority therefore increasing the strength of the backlinks on the squidoo lense or hub page. If you have a website and decide to start a blog placing a link towards your website on each and every blog post then it is a good idea to build backlinks towards the blog and each post increasing the authority of the backlink from your blog to your website. If you want to start a free blog I recommend starting one at www.blogger.com and/or www.wordpress.com both have excellent free platforms which you can start a blog.

If you start a blogger blog or squidoo lense take the time and treat that web presence the same as you would a full blown website. This means taking the time to submit to directories here is a list of 2 thousand~ http://www.onewaytextlink.com/, write articles for such directories as www.ezinearticles.com, submit to social bookmarking here is a list~ http://marketing-a-website.blogspot.com/2009/05/top-55-social-bookmarking-websites.html, anyway you should really take the time and build the same backlinks that you would for a regular website. This is very time consuming, but will give you another authoritative high page rank web presence.

Now once you have a couple (for example I have 1 PR 3 presence, 2 PR 2 presences, and 1 PR 1 presence) then starting a new website or blog the process will be rushed. In other words it is very difficult when you do not have much authority online to build authority for an online presence, but if your running many diffrent places which have authority then starting a new presence you have the ability to throw all the authority you own at your new web presence speeding its rise through the SERPs and gaining Page Rank. This is why it is important to bulid backlinks towards your backlinks and build authority to every presence which you own.

No Matter What Never Spam Your Readers

You know I have been going over the biggest blogs on the net and have found when a blog gains success the spam rate of the blog jumps exponentially. So you finally get the traffic you need to make real money and decide to take your readers and shove anything that makes you even more money down their throats I do have a real problem with this. I could name names, but since it is kinda pointless (the greedy won't change their ways) I will let you find them. Really the easiest way to find the majority is type make money online into Google and look at all the most recent posts you will find the blogger way is slowly turning and no more is it free information it is becoming "buy my program and get the information". No longer is the thousands monthly from advertisements enough they must screw the poor who come to their blogs looking for help only to find someone else ready to charge them.

Mabye I am looking at it wrong should info be free? I mean knowledge drives the web fresh content is the deciding factor between failure and success of a web presence should I judge those who wish to capitalize on every dime?

I noticed a blog (again I can't give the link) who taught e-marketing and did a great job. They showed you everything from A-Z and had a huge amount of interactivity with their readers. This person teamed up with another and set up a new blog even though the older one was making plenty of money and for this new marketing blog/info they charged for the service/info. Do they need the money? Well having one of the highest ranked sites for internet marketing I highly doubt the person needed to charge for the info, but they did and for taking money from their readers I look down on them especially when adsense would have sufficed.

Anyways I am getting off work and have a friend spouting about how he has no addiction even though he has been taking adderall for a year now. He makes me laugh. Talk with you guys later and remember even if you gain success don't start screwing people out of their money when you make plenty through advertising keep giving the info for free and help those around you. Patience When Link Building

While doing work for a fellow webmaster in the SEO category I noticed that they became frustrated easily and did not understand why the work which I did was not showing up in Yahoo's Site Explorer which you can find by going to http://www.yahoo.com/ and typing in link:www.yoururl.com into the query box showing the links which were pointed towards any given URL. I received numerous emails from this individual stating their disappointment in the search engine rankings hoping for a larger increase. These complaints came after only a week after the job was complete. It was then I understood that there were many out there that do not understand the time which it takes for Google and other major search engines to count and update their index to reflect any changes to the web.

First we must understand what the web is and to give you an idea think about the world. Now there are billions of people and trillions of unique thoughts expressions ect. Well the web is similar think about each web page, blog, forum, or other web presence as a person and each new post or unique URL that web presence creates a new thought or expression from that person a unique URL which Google must keep track of. You have a bot we will call it the G-bot running all over the world trying to keep up with any and all changes that are happening. Personally I think if we could put a face to the G-bot it would look like this:

^That's the G-bot who goes all over the world checking up on the billions of people and each new idea which they come up with. Now just like the real world people and ideas each hold their own value. Do we place the same value on the stoner who thought up putting doritos in ice cream and the scientist who comes up with the cure for AIDS? Of course not and it is fine to call an idea stupid (Google does daily). So as the G-bot jumps around he is putting a value on each and every person as well as the ideas which they come up with. Now he does this on a consistent basis usually spending the majority of his time on the most important web pages and if you are new then he will probably ignore your first attempts until you become a well seasoned person with thoughtful ideas (sticking with the expression). Now let's sat G-bot was real how long do you think it would take him to go around the world and list everyone's name? Do you think he could find and list the billions of people in an hour? A Day? Personally I see him being able to fly and extremely fast so my guess would be about a month or two to find all of the different people (websites, blogs, ect) and list them. Now the hard part begins keeping track of each and every new thought which pass through every head on earth. Last year Google hit the 1 trillion unique URL's by now of course there has been a few billion added. You expect the G-bot to come as soon as you have a new idea? Even the huge sites such as Yahoo, You Tube, and CNN have to wait a couple hours for Google to update their new data and you think your ideas are more important? I am afraid not. Usually for the average site with a decent marketing campaign they will be updated once a day. This is going off how often I see the G-bot hitting my site make money online. This took me three months of working 12 hours daily 7 days a week before I saw this much activity so if your not willing to put this much effort into your marketing campaign or are not willing to outsource the work then expect it to take 6 months before you see this much activity. Either way nothing happens online within an hour or less when it comes to the major search engines. Personally I am really hoping this changes, though I doubt it will.

Let's get into the numbers of what you will be looking at before success. If you want to be indexed and submit to the major social bookmarking sites then you should expect to be indexed into Google within 1 day to a week. If you are using such ways as directory submission and article writing then it will take 2 weeks to over a month to be indexed. Now if your worried about your Page Rank this updates on average once every three months so don't expect much until after the first couple and you have had adequate time to build thousands of backlinks. Also this grows on an exponential number so if it took you a hundred links to get PR 1 then expect it to take 1000 to get to 2 and 10k to get to 3. One number I thought was real interesting was Darren over at www.problogger.net has a Page Rank of 6 and 576,000 backlinks so this a number to keep in your mind if you want to become an authority in the eyes of Google. Anyway he did not become a success overnight and talks about the time which a blogger must put in before they can really start making money. So you put a link on the web and let say you put it on a source which has a Page Rank of 3 (which is decent). Google will crawl it within a day or two then on the next schedule index update which happens I see usually monthly. So 1 backlink on an authority will take about a month before the complete effect is seen. Now this speeds up if the link is on a more authoritative source and slows down if the link is on a less authoritative source.

Anyway for you new guys I recommend using this time frame when judging whether or not your marketing campaign is working or the work you are out sourcing is taking effect. Well another day has come and once again I feel like talking about what working online is about. This post will be quite a bit more personal rather than informative. Well I have now held a top ten spot for make money free on Google for a couple of months and of course enjoyed the traffic coming in. I just recently got accepted to become an author at www.buzzle.com and www.ehow.com both very reputable. These should really do well when I attempt to gain exposure for this blog and my other presences across the web. Anyway enough about my stuff it is time to speak of the game.

The game, the game, the blood drenched tower of steel crumbling horrible cutthroat evil vindictive game. This is the world I live in and I personally set out to do good in the world of 90% evil 10% good. My site make money online was not built to make millions, but to give people the chance to make money without paying, it is a website which battles those who wish to take someone that has little and steal that little which they have. Is this a sales pitch well I have tried to use it, but have found that the truth is not always the most productive way when marketing. I have found that offering to make people rich by charging them several hundred dollars for crap such as a couple mini books and a website that has been copied well over a thousand times. These are the forces which I step into the cage with and usually I get beat down since I do not have the financial backing these scam artists do. Have I thought about going over to the dark side and ripping people off? Of course for my personal benefit it would be the best course of action though after making a ton of money my name and site would be ruined thrown into the bucked mixed with scammers. So what do I do? Stay on the straight and narrow or move towards more profitable endeavors not caring about hurting people. Really and truly I have struggled over which is best moral value or money and still to this day choose moral value, but I think if times were hard enough taking someones money not offering near the value being charged would seem like a better and better option as time goes on.

You think the last one is bad? You think that not charging people for scams is hard what about info. This blog gives you the power to take a site or blog and build/market it using white hat techniques that will not only get you to the top of Google, but build a foundation so you will stay at the top and have an everlasting flow of traffic. I have seen other sites that offer the same thing, but never for free yet this blog goes nowhere. I find it funny that when a person is offered something for free they usually opt to pay for the service rather than learning or doing for themselves. When it comes to making money online getting rich quick is what people want and then once they have been scammed out of a few hundred to a few thousand they opt to make legit money from trusted companies. Why must people do this opt for the easy way even though it is all hype.

That my friends brings me to the topic of the post you have to love the game. Personally I love nothing more that writing for you guys and trying to bring you the best info that I possibly can. Does this lead to thousands of followers even though I market, ping, and update daily? No I have like 5 or so even though my blog is the second blog for the keyword website marketing blog. I find it very interesting I reach the top of SERPs yet very few still follow me. Well it is for the few readers that I post every day such as SAP Jobs who comments often and really drives me to help. By the way SAP if you would like me to discuss something please let me know. Anyway if you don't love being online and understand that you will get screwed over and over then working online is right for you. 10 Diffrent Places To Get Do Follow Backlinks

What's up guys I have been searching and searching for places which I can gain free, one way, relevant, authoritative backlinks. Well I found several different ways to get backlinks and I know there are many out there that think Google no longer relies on backlinks as a way to judge the importance of a site and to those I have to say you are wrong. Now backlinks are not everything your site or blog should also be optimized for the search engines. If you read through this blog I speak often on the subject of how to optimize through keyword association and relevance. Soon I will be doing a post on how to correctly interlink a website, but for now I will stick with sources where you can gain backlinks which will help you in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).

1. http://www.blogger.com/ is my favorite place to gain backlinks. I start a blog monthly and post daily on my favorite blogs such as this one. Anyway begin a blog and post as often as possible with excellent content then at the bottom of the post or in your navigation place the links to your websites and blogs you would like backlinks to making sure to place keywords in the text between the anchor tags rather than the URL itself.

2. http://www.squidoo.com/ another place where rather than setting up a blog you set up one page and are able to place as many backlinks as you would like is squidoo.com. Now with squidoo do not have more html or backlinks than text you should write a nice long article about whatever then at the end place links with anchored keywords. I highly recommend submitting your lenses to a few directories just to give them a basic authority. Good place.

3. http://www.wordpress.com/ here is another place where you should be setting up at least a couple free blogs posting daily and having links going back to your site. Post and post and post remember each post is one more link to not only your external sites, but also a link to your main URL and carries weight helping to boost your blogs authority. If you notice the successful blogs have well over 1000 posts and over a hundred thousand backlinks. Content can only bring so much success you must work hard on your presence to see true success.

4. http://www.000webhost.com/ This is a web host which offers a free gig of space meaning you will have plenty of space to build a couple pages. If you would like to learn html try http://www.w3schools.com/ this is where I learned how to build pages.

5. http://www.linkmarket.com/ This is a free directory of sites that want to link exchange and they make the process very simple. Now you really need to be careful of the sites that you exchange links with and do not go over board with your exchanges. Personally I recommend staying under 100 exchanges. Also remember that a reciprocal link is no where close to effective as a one way link, but they still have a minor effect on the SERPs and can prove useful when trying to beat competition.

6. Free Traffic System This is the system which I use to get the majority of my backlinks and has put me to the first page of serps on Google for make money free and earn money free. I thought about keeping this one secret, but since they have an affiliate system which pays in backlinks rather than money I decided to go for it. Anyway it is somewhat difficult to use so you need to be computer savvy before giving the system a shot or it may be overwhelming.

7. Time for article sites and the big ones which I use to gain backlinks are www.ezinearticles.com, www.articlesbase.com, www.goarticles.com, and www.isnare.com all of which give very authoritative backlinks and if your article is well liked by the readers it will be republished giving the article and backlinks within a viral effect. Anyway article writing is the way which you can gain respect among your competition and visitors to the article directory.

8. Dang I am starting to run out of ideas, the next good way to get backlinks would be through commenting on do follow blogs. Now the ways which you can find do follow blogs is either through searching or through do follow blog directories. The directory which I use to find do follow blogs is~ http://www.dofollowblogs.com/ and the search engine which I use to find do follow blogs is http://advancedseo.nickopedia.com/2009/05/04/dofollow-blog-search-engine/ both of these are excellent sources of backlinks. One thing though if you want to get your comment published rather than rejected there are a couple things you must do:

a. Read the full post
b. Comment on the post not a comment about your site
c. Before placing keywords in the name box look at other comments to see if the blogger allows this usually with keyword luv you should be putting your name @ your keywords in the name box every blog is different. I have a couple blogs which let me place keywords in the name and only keywords the blogs are PR 6-7 and I use them when building links for my clients using my site www.webdesignandseoservices.com really it takes time to find the best blogs within your niche and sometimes it is also worth contacting them asking what they allow.

9. Forum posting is another way to get backlinks towards your site, but you should follow the same rules as blogging find out the rules before posting and add to the community rather than spamming it. My favorite forum to participate in is
http://www.v7n.com/forums/ and http://www.webtalkforums.com/ I am not going to send you to DP or Web Pro News since they have been complete dicks since I started and quite a few I have talked to have had a bad experience when using the forums so we will stick with the nice forums for now. A Look into The World of SPAM

Hey guys for this post I wanted to discuss what spam is and why you should not be a spammer. Now as the online communities tend to sway with the Google tide link building and popularity becomes an ever more pressing issue. With this need for link building there are many that understand that they must get their link out to be noticed by Google, but are not exactly sure how to do so and therefore the creation of the spammer is born.

Spam is an advertisement in a location where it is not welcome. For example if you buy a list of email addresses and send those addresses constant emails about how great your product is then you should consider yourself a spammer or lowest form of internet marketer with no chance of acquiring great heights in the webmaster community. Now there are many different forms of spam including forum spam, blog spam, creation of spammy cover pages such as squidoo lenses, and many more.

Well this is what spam is now it is time to discuss why someone may want to spam. Personally the biggest reason I feel that people spam is they are left very little option for proper link building when it comes to what Google likes and does not like. Now Google does not allow websites to sale link space on their website unless they are using them as a middle man through the adsense and adwords program. If you go to adwords you can buy traffic and you will notice that your links will appear on pages all across the internet. So I guess the lesson is if you want to buy link space Google is the only one to do it through. Now I am being sarcastic, if you have the money go ahead and buy link space where ever you damn well please just be sure to work out with the webmaster where your link will appear and make sure that it is integrated into the content rather than being listed under "sponsored listing/sites".

Now if the webmaster allows your link to be on their web presence it is not SPAM. Now a big thing that I have noticed is people wanting to place their ad for their website or blog on forums and this is fine as long as your in a place where it is acceptable to do so. Now it is fine since it is not spam, but I personally recommend staying away from any place that allows you to place your site and does not manually review it. These are link farms which were created to boost a websites link popularity and should be avoided in a marketing campaign where the presence being promoted is not spam itself. In other words if your pushing a good site, blog, service, or whatever and you want to have respect from Google, other webmasters, and the web in general then stay away from link farms, ffa pages, and traffic exchanges. These are the bad places that webmasters talk about and should be avoided unless you yourself are pushing crap. Now I have used link exchanges, but only to push affiliate links since I really don't care how well they rank in the SERPs. For my websites and blogs you will see backlinks from only reputable sources such as high PR article directories and blogs which themselves have gained a quite high PR. Now I know that many suggest that PR means nothing and this is inaccurate. PR (Page Rank) is the authority that a page holds in Google's eyes and has many diffrent factors affecting it. Page rank is based on the incoming vs. outgoing links taking into account quantity, quality, and relevance of the backlinks coming into a site. They also take into account the number of incoming vs. outgoing links so when you decide to create your marketing campaign I highly suggest staying away from link exchanges.

Sorry let's get back onto topic which is forum spam. Don't do it period there is no good reason and when you spam a forum within a week your post will be removed and if you continue you will be banned from the forum. If you would like to get thousands of one way links from forums then treat the community well trying to ask and answer questions on a regular basis. Then once you have become a trusted member within the forum and after you passed the limits of required number of posts place your link using bb code here is an example of how you can place your link in a signiture and get anchored keywords~ [url="http://makemoneyfree.comuv.com"]make money online[/url] and that my friends is bb code and how you get a keyword backlink well thousands depending on the frequency of your posting from forums. When it comes to forums the best forum is V7N Forums the only forum that rather than banned me tried to help me understand what being a good forum member meant and to them "especially Cricket" I am greatful.

Now blog spam has become another huge problem as well. If you comment on a blog for the sole purpose of increasing link popularity do not expect to do well. I run multiple do follow blogs and those that leave a comment about the actual post I publish those that leave even one link to their site I reject their comments. So when blog commenting there are a couple of rules you should follow the first being check and see what type of comments the blogger is publishing. If they allow you to place keywords in the name you will see others be doing this and being published. Now no matter what do not leave a big ad where the comment goes this is a no no and even if the blogger is publishing I highly recommend you writing a comment about the post rather than leaving a spammy ad.

The third type of spam is creating a web presence for the sole purpose of building links. You can see these all over though Google has done a great job of finding and crushing these types of presences. Guys it no longer works (creating a wordpress blog and putting thousands of links on it). This is old trickery and should be stopped. Now if your looking to gain backlinks I highly recommend you scroll down find "my best posts" and look at the thousands of directories, PR sites, and social bookmarking sites. All of these are great for growing your backlink count the white hat way.

Case Study #3 Offline Marketing

Well this one will probably the most expensive since there really is no good free way to market your website offline. Now personally I really prefer free everything. As of right now I have spent $25.00 on marketing and it was probably not the best $25.00 which I have spent. I have made several hundred dollars helping others market their sites (using free resources). The problem with free marketing is you must run a site or blog which is appealing and really offers something to your visitor. This can be quite difficult and usually means having your site or blog in a constant state of change being sure to find new and better ways to help the traffic which crosses your site. Now if you are an e-commerce site this can be a bit more difficult, but is still quite possible. Some different ways to really offer more than your competitor is pick something that sets you apart which can be something as simple as a sale then market the hell out of it. You can also offer the best customer assistance around, the largest inventory, or several other ways in which your business beats out your competition. If you don't do this then your marketing efforts will not take on wings of their own so FIND SOMETHING which sets you apart and market too your target audience.

Anyways on with the study. First week you should be printing off all the basics and if you don't have a printer for your computer then get one because you will be printing thousands of fliers and business cards so make sure it can do both. For the first week I recommend printing off 2,000 business cards and 1,000 fliers for your site. This will take quite a bit of time and with the fliers I recommend switching it up regularly with different pics words and overall layout doing tests to find which layout brings the best return.

For the second week it is time for distribution. This is where you keep hundreds of business cards in your pocket and if you run into a chance where you can promote your site face to face be sure to hand them your business card with your site printed on it. The fliers should be placed everywhere legal such as convenience stores, gas stations, and grocery stores. When possible try to hit your target audience for example I run a make money site at make money online and took a bunch of fliers to the unemployment office. Now I live in a small town, but after we hit a dip in the economy I hit a peak in traffic and quite a bit was local.

The third week will be newspaper ads and I recommend either after having the ad written for you or you writing the ad to take it online and use it in your press release distribution. This will be very helpful if it gets picked up by reporters and the newspaper ads will help you gain exposure locally as well.

The forth week should be devoted to T.V. exposure as well as radio exposure. Try and find the best price when looking into these types of advertising and if possible take time researching your target audience finding not only the best time, but best channels for your target audience. This way you may lack on quantity of traffic, but the traffic which you get will be very targeted and easily converted. Perhaps your asking "is this effective" well if your ever watching TV late at night you will notice many make money websites which still utilize/dominate the late night infomercials. Now the majority are scams and flat out lie about how easy it is to work online. I know this from personal experience I bought a website from one of these late night scams and got a website for $300.00 which was a duplicate of thousands upon thousands of others and I was unable to make a dime. If you want to spend money on a website hire a web design company and of course I recommend my design and seo company at Web Design and SEO Services for all of your design and marketing needs. I made sure to undercut the competition and feel it is the best for your dollar. Anyways TV and radio are still very powerful marketing tools and if you have the money I highly recommend using them.

Well this will be the most expensive of the campaigns ranging from a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars, but these marketing platforms are excellent resources to promote a website. Be sure to do your research and really get to know your target audience before you begin this study so your not wasting money placing your ad in front of people which have no interest in your product or service. Bounce Rate IS NOT Always Bad

Hey guys I am back for another post this time discussing bounce rate. First off bounce rate is when someone hits your site then "bounce" to another site. Here is a good page explaining it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bounce_rate

So if a visitor comes to your website then clicks on your blog which is hosted on a separate domain your bounce rate just increased. What if a visitor comes to your blog then leaves through an adsense add? So when you sit back and worry that your bounce rate is rising personally I sit back and worry when people are spending to much time on my site rather than going to the numerous profitable systems I promote.

This is me I really like making money and if you notice my website make money online you will notice that I help others do the same. Now if you really want to decrease bounce rate which in turn will more than likely decrease the amount of money your web presence is making then there are several ways to do so.

Put your content before any and all ads. This will decrease the amount of money your website is making, but the visitors will tend to stay longer decreasing bounce rate. Really I recommend anyone trying to decrease bounce rate make sure as soon as the visitor comes into your site you make it very easy for them to not only see what your site is about you should also be trying to convince them that the site is exactly what they need.

Now this is a little easier said then done. I have found when looking over webmaster forums the question comes up ten time more "how do I get traffic" then "how do I increase conversions". This is important since all "traffic" does is burn up bandwidth, but if you work on increasing conversions the traffic actually becomes money. So one tip I would like to share is quit worrying about the bounce rate especially if they are converting in your affiliate programs or going to read your blog these are better than the visitors that spend two hours reading on your website or blog.

Well it is time for another case study and for this one I want to layout a plan which rather than consists of outside resources consists of internal improvement. There is a lot of talk about content being king and personally I am split with this. I have seen websites and blogs that have crap throughout their pages, but the webmaster/bloggers spent 1000's of hours building links towards the site to put it at number one. Personally I feel that these "troopers" have heart and understand without a doubt the marketing grind, but if they would spend half the time working on their site or blog and had the links happen naturally perhaps they would hold the top spot with only half the work. So let's get onto a monthly marketing plan which does have some outside marketing, but a larger focus on creating a website which is worth linking to.
