What I Have Learned
It is definitely the new age. We are now seeing a massive surge in ai content. I myself have been playing around with the different ais to see what is possible. I have been spending time learning from major players in the SEO and Blogging world.
It seems that link authority and EEAT have become the deciding factor on whether or not a blog does well in search. Creating written content that is 100% unique and well-researched is more important than ever. The internet is quickly filling up with spam created by these bots.
Rules for Blogging
Spending countless hours on Youtube watching creators in the Blogging space has taught me a few lessons.
- A good blog post has several elements. It needs to be broken up rather than text blocks. The post should contain numerous media within to keep it looking fresh. The content needs to have real research with links to authoritative sources.
- SEO for the most part has stayed the same. I think it has just become a bit more mainstream. Tools for SEO have definitely become more necessary (Surfer SEO, Ahrefs, etc)
- The necessary post length has definitely increased over the years. No longer is Google ranking content for pieces that actually meet the query. I have noticed this simply by searching different terms. The content it ranks is massive guides that are somewhat close to the query, but not very targeted toward it.
Plans Moving Forward
I will be spending a lot of time on my new blog creating new content about blogging. I would like to keep this blog up to date as well so I will probably be rewriting much of the content here. You should also expect some major changes to appearance.
